Hello everyone. Long time lurker here.

I've had a build thread over in VWvortex for awhile but with the new direction my build has taken they don't like it over there anymore.

I've owned this car for almost a year and a half now.
Was on coil overs and had some bmw rims with tires that were too big.


Started doing a wire tuck and shaved bay. Had a lot of things deleted
And also had just ordered bags


Then this happened ��

So I bought this for $200


Decided the paint and body was too bad and I missed the silver so I. Bought this a week later for $400

Since I've owned this car it has always been my daily which limited me from a lot of things I've wanted to do. Well it's now my full time project car so now the fun starts.

I have 2.5" flares in the mail on the way here, some Rotiforms on the way. I'll be picking up a lm7 out of a Tahoe with 105k and a ls3 cam In a couple weeks also.

I want to have fun and do a no f***s given build. The stock 1.8 is gonna go back in it for now so I can take it to shows for the summer then this fall the ls swap can start ��

Here's some things I'm working on

Full race car look


Full stripped interior


Getting rid of any unnecessary electroincs(Heat,AC,FCM,power windows, etc.)


Audi TT dash


Shaved bay


Hopefully I can find some who like this build instead of just calling it rice. Either way It's my car and I love it!

I'm glad people are interested! Over on the vw site everyone told me it was a horrible idea and called it rice.

The motor I'm picking up tomorrow is a 5.3 lm7 out of a Tahoe. Only 105k on it and the whole thing is dissembled right now and was hot tanked. Picking it up for $250 with all internals and a ls3 cam! The guy was gonna put it in an rx7 then ended up getting a ls1.

Also have a friend who's gonna start helping me with the roll cage and figuring out how I'm gonna do the rear end

It is going to be RWD... right? Either way this is super cool. Trust me they will look wider once you have the wheels mounted with them and fill the flares, I had the same issue.

Yea rwd for sure. Haven't decided what rear end I'm gonna use yet tho. The Jetta rear track width is about 58 so I need to keep it around that. Been looking at 240 rear ends or even c4 vettes

Ended up not being able to pick the motor up today. Hopefully next weekend. I did work tho
