I haven't picked out what rear end I'm gonna use yet but I'm definitely gonna have to do some major cutting of the firewall and tranny tunnel. The firewall on these bolt in and out so I plan on retaining that ability and making it bolt in and out still. Can't make any cuts until I get the motor but going through measurements it will for sure fit in the bay. Definitely gonna be tight but it will fit!

If putting a V8 into a Jetta is rice, then we should rice everything. I can't wait to see how this turns out.

I recommend you look at the is300 rear end, quite stout. Not as plentiful tho....
Anywho, I'm sub'd. Bravo for swapping

Not a lot happened. Was helping a friend work on his gti but I threw on some 20mm spacers in the rear

Looks so good but I'm gonna run 275s in the rear so I either need smaller spacers, wider flares, or more camber 🤔

And here's a quick snap of my shop with one of my part cars chilling out front

Well I'm intrigued. I say leave it wingless though to add that much more surprise when you fire the engine up or do a burn out.

I really wanted to do a w8 but cost was the biggest factor. I'm getting a 5.3 LS with 105k miles for $220 and an ls3 cam for $30 and it has a massive aftermarket where as a w8 would have cost me a couple grand and had very few aftermarket parts

I thought about doing a more sleeper look but my goal for his was full race car and zero f**** given. I've always wanted to do a build like this but never had a full on project car. I know I'll get **** for the wing but given its going rwd and I love big wangs I'll be ordering one soon 👍🏼
