I owned a 83 4 dr with a ABA swap and it was a really fun car. I'm still debating if I should just sell the wagon after swapping the Rabbit and just upgrade and fix everything on the rabbit to make it a fun car I can drive to work daily and across country with no worries.Last edited by GTIKole.; 06-02-2016, 11:56 AM.

Got the new starter in and got the Oem Small lip swapped in. I like the look but may get a 70mm lip from spoonfeed tuning so I can have the best of both worlds.

I also put the the corrado's old seats in the Westy since it's seats were is bad shape. I had to use the passenger side on the driverside & visversa since the release for the slider is on the opposite side. I also removed the seat seats and retrim and cleaned up the back section of the car.

My grilsfriend's dad's Tundra compared to the Rabbit. I drove the tundra all weekend to get a couch for my girl friends in cinci.

Switched out my plate I have had for 4 years now to a new plate that seemed more fitting, adjusted the throttle cable and remined myself that the bay of this car has nothing in it haha

EH, doing the Mk1 panel van is not going to be as easy as the mk3 or even mk2 version (OE has a Full MK2 right now) as those two are already hard enough to find. Plus the earlist oem panel van I have seen is ad featuring a early small bumper MK2 so they may have never made an oem mk1 version.
Must say I'm jealous of your mate. I love all early westys but an early westy Caddy would be game over for me, Honestly a dream car for me next to a 72 Hakosuka Skyline. They are just getting so so hard to find!

Ok small update time.
Ordered a solid front motor mount from BFI since my old OEM one was destoryed. Made the car feel a lot more solid for sure.
Somethimg in my hydro clutch system went out so I just went ahead and replaced everything. New clutch master, new slave cylinder & a new custom line from Earl's Indy. The line was about $45 with the all the fittings. Looks a hell of a lot better than the stock line. Took me about an hour to reinstall everything with a help of my a friend, a power bleeder and bench bleeding everything.
Happy to have the car back on the road again with a much more solid clutch setup.
