I had no issues with them honestly. they cleaned up really easy and were pretty light. I did have to run spacers up front to clear my brakes. But they still looked new when I sold them.

I sold the westy and my jetta wagon last week. The Westy was starting to become way more of a project than I wanted and was going to keep the me off track with the corrado. So I sold it and I sold the Jetta just because... Well a 2.0 MK4 wagon is just a bit boring to drive everyday. So I figured I would try something different for once. Most don't know this but the first car I ever built was a 99 EM1 Civic SI. Pretty much the same idea as the corrado. Red car, NA, larger cams with head work and low. I have always still loved hondas and have wanted an EG hatch for a long time.

Well when I sold the two other cars I started looking on Craigslist for something else and was going to buy another mk3 GTI but the seller talked to me and then just stopped talking. So Sunday morning I was looikng around again and found a clean rust free EG Hatch that was local and had to jump on it.

I have done some work since it been home. getting the corner lights back to amber, ficing and cleaning up some of the wiring I was not happy with, removing the huge rpm tach and shift light and of course lowering it more.

Get rid of the rear camber make it fit right and it would look better but amazing car and amazing job!

Ok so I have been lazy and there has been no updates for a bit but that is changing now.

In short I got really bored with the car and honestly just did not like the look with the modernlines as it went away from The idea I had when I started this build. So here has what has happened.

[/B]Sold the Modernlines and ordered the new wheel can tire combo along with a few other small parts.
Here is a small list of what I want to do over winter..

-Switch back to 15" wheels with a more older japanese feel. (already on the way)
-90mm race stud conversion. (already on the way)
-Autopower race roll bar.
-OEM SLC grill.
-Rear Strut bar.
-Get the rpm guage working again.
-Reintall wiper motor, wiring and arms.
-Custom all Red tail lights.
-Switch out my polished and wood nardi for a deep cone all black model.
-70mm Spoonfed lip (if it will fit with the new wheel setup)
-shave the front bumper.
-Por-15 wheel wells & under coat the bottom of the car.

It's really not a crazy list like last year but enough to keep me busy since I wont be able to ride my bike as much. Here is a quick Photoshop of the idea.

I then called TF Works up and ordered a Autopower Race bolt in roll bar. It is still being made and will ship to me in a few weeks.

I bought a set of 15x8 et0 Rota Grid-V's (how could you!) & a set of 165/45 Federal tires. I did this for a reason which I'll explain in a bit. I picked up the wheels yesterday and ran straight home to do a test fit and make sure everything fit as I wanted from messing with an offset calculator. They fit better than I thought they would and was really excited how they looked on the car. I then headed down to my friend Edgar's tire shop and we got the tires mounted up. I was slightly worried the tire would be too small height wise and look weird but once I got the wheels on the car and got everything adjusted it looked great (imo). after some adjustments I went for a small test drive. Pretty much the 90MM lip was dragging 85% of the time so I realized it was time to remove it and switch back to a US small lip which I think personally looks better on this set up. I can say this set up made me fall in love with my car again. It gave me that little japanese/Shakotan flair I was looking for when I first was coming up with my direction for this project.

Ok. So I know someone is going to be like you put these seats and a roll bar in a car that has some 165/45's on that is super low? Why?
Well here is the thing. I am going to get the car to the track nexy year and start making progress to improve my driving and have some fun with friends but I'm not going to use this wheel and tire combo at all for track use. In all honesty this car is going to live a double life. Most the time It will be on the street set up and lower (which is the look I love) but I will also have a set up just for track use or for when I just want a change & of course the car will have to be raised up.
I decided on this route so I could get the best of both worlds out of my car and just enjoy it all around because I was really having a hard time loving it the past few months. This is also why I went with a little cheaper of a wheel set up compared to anything I have owned in the last 6 years so I could buy both sets of wheels and also do the other upgrades I want to do to the car and stay in a budget. Here is what I'll be work at the next few months..

Another reason I'm get a different wheel is because the offsets on the Rota's would be a nightmare to fit a 205/50 Bridgestone on as you can see from the photos below. They are very meaty tires & I have heard great reviews from people running them.

This height looked amazing yes but not drivable at all. So I raised the car up about 1.5" all around which I honestly think looks better and the car is drivable. I love this set up so much I must say. Still waiting on my stud conversion to show up, hopefully it will be here early next week. Here is some photos of the car at it's current height.

A few days later my 90mm Stud conversion from Garagistic showed up. Super nice conversion, here is a link to the conversion if anyone wanted more info.

Super easy install, get quality on the studs/bolts and love that I no longer have to hold the wheel up anymore.

Thanks man. I had to make a change because I was just about to trade it for a mk1 or something else but just could not bring myself to do it.
I'm already in love with the stud conversion and I only took one wheel off after installing them haha

Ok quick update.
I was not happy with the 165/45's, the car sat too low and started having some issues with them leaking.
So I bought a set of 195/45 Toyo T1R's which is a much better tire and much wider. I wanted to go ahead and do the 205/50 RE-71's but I saw no way they would fit with a 15x8 et0 so that was put to the side. to get the rears to fit better I removed my drop plates and shimmed the hub to run a little camber and correct toe since the drop plates were giving me bad toe. Also put the 90mm lip back on as it fits again with the car being rasied up for the wheels. I also removed a few more interior bits.

I love how the car sits now with wider tires and very little stretch.

OK LONG TIME NO UPDATE.

IM not going to do a full write out but here is short version...
Custom made SLC grill to fit a G60 Core support, Brand new Work Equip 03 (15x9 sqaured) customed ordered adn waited 13 weeks to get them, fixing small issues as I find them.
