I've still got my old grill, I was planning on blacking that one out but I ended up getting the GTI grill for a nice price. I'm leaving it for the time being, but after wheels and a drop I'll consider it. Once that's done I'll either wrap the headlights a camaleon tint or flyeye them depending on what I find looks fitting.

Not sure if they're of any interest to you, just mentioning and I can get in touch with my mate about them if you are! Don't think he's in any rush to sell them so you'll have plenty of time
Thanks mate, I presume they'll be up north right? I'll probably leave it as I'm after some 15"s but thanks a lot pal!

Also, ended up spending about 4 hours giving this thing a real proper detail session with all my Auto Finesse stuff.

So I'll leave you with a picture of it!

    Cheers guys

My mates joke about it being a monster truck

It's actually not as high as it looks, it's simply got really skinny tires which dont help at all, and the shocks are so soft that when the car has anyone in the back the wheel gap dissapears.

        Which is nice, I guess

£650 to get it all fixed (gearbox and other stuff)

Bought the car for £600 haha what a bugger

Ah well, gonna drive it till it dies - love it too much to scrap it and I can't afford to scrap it now either

At least I know it's clean underneath

Been doing some stupid cosmetic stuff to the car recently which I'll post tomorrow as I'm not done yet

In the mean time, I got a load of stickers for my page that I run with Sonny and Will

I'm giving a handfull out for free, if you're interested let me know

Mr Evan and some other chaps have said they're happy to help us out by rocking one - so big cheers to them

              Repair costs always sucks...

Clean sticker mate, I'd be pleased to rocking one of these on the Benz!

                    Safe guys ^^

Only 10 years before you guys can import the 6n2 into the states

Anyway, not updated this dead thread for a little while, mainly cause there is not much worth updating apart from little DIY jobs I've been doing

Still no lows, who knows when that will happen

However it is quarter past midnight here and I'm in a creative mood so thought I'd tell you guys all about what I've been up to

First of all, my roof has had a problem with the paint peeling for a little while now

At first I ignored it, however as time went on and mother nature pissed all over my car, the peeling got really bad.

This picture was taken in January, and by the time I got round to fixin it the whole thing basically peeled off.

So, popped down to Morrisons to get myself some sand paper. (50p for 9 sheets what a deal!!!1!)
Popped into Halfords to get myself a can of primer, a can of my Diamond Black Magic VW Paint and a can of clear coat

                    And got cracking >:]

Either some acids stuff has been on the paint or it's been repained before, cause believe me I was sanding down more than just 16 years of paint and primer lmao

Gave it the quick one two agado with the 'ol newspaper and laid down a shit load of coats of primer

Then classic mehowski luck kicked in and it started to rain - thankfully the primer fully dried by then

                    It rained 2 days straight

finally I managed to get lucky and made the most of the sunniest day of the year for us so far

Put on so many coats of paint bloody nora, but it actually came out really well

For a classic Halfords aerosol can can it's a quality finish - I'm very impressed and would reccomend it to someone who needs to touch up their paint

And ta-da! No more shitty roof

I have noticed that I did a really shitty job of masking the whole thing out, and have loads of specles of primer over spray all over my windows - ah well you live and you learn

I then decided my RC looka lika antenna had to go, so bought myself a univeral Stubby

Now, this thing is tiny, like so bloody small

there it is in the hands of a god - me

and there it is on the god's chriot - my 6n2

The signal now is so shit it makes me want to cry, but it makes my car look like a race car so it's worth it.

Plus I've got my Taylor Swift CD to keep me enteratined throught those cold rainy british days

                    anyway

A few days later I was flicking through instagram, as you do

I noticed that on darker colour cars, such as dark blue or dark grey or dark green, ambered corners look really nice

I'm sure you've all seen an E36 with ambered corners or what not

I looked outside, and what do you know? A dark Polo was sitting there in my drive

So I had a little look at my plucky little Polo, did some thinking and some photoshoppin, and ordered £3 worth of amber vinyl

3 days later, the bad boy was parked outside and, once again, I got cracking

                    before above
                    aaaaand
                    after below

now I shall admit this now, in pictures it looks a lot better clear, especially in the two above
for some reason that before picture makes my car look really good - very werid

                    However!

Do not believe everything you see on the internet, I assure you in the real ambered corners look so sooo good on this thing, I'm absolutely in love with them

And once again, for £3 the eBay vinyl did a real good job - highly impressed and would reccomend

Gave the car a whole detail sesh too that week, I dont think theres a bolt I forgot to polish

Ofcourse it rained for 2days straight after that, but at least it beaded very nicely

not bad for 16 year old shitty paint

And then I ordered my self a new camera stabilistaion thing so I can make some better videos for my page this year

Hitting Early Edition this sunday, I'm oh so very excited, even more buzzing to see some of our stickers on some cars there too (btw mr leaf sorry but I'm still yet to post your sticker, need to take a trip down to the post office cause I think I got the wrong stamps fml)

Took a trip down some nice roads in my area so took some hi res pics of the plucky thing, imma chuck some unedited pics in here somewhere

Safe to say lows need to happen soon, I've been putting them off cause of the weather but it's getting to the point where I'm running out of little jobs to do, and getting this thing low would make me very very happy

For now I enjoy my vinyl wrapped, povery spec'd Polo with that mighty 16v and a 2003 head unit

Will be replacing the brake pads soon myself and painting the callipers in preperation for summer too -

I'll keep this thread updated as I do stuff as I can sense things might be getting interesting in the near future

Thanks for reading friends, enjoy your tuesday

                    • Loving your Polo so far, you're doing a great job at cleaning it up. I know how it is to be young and broke trying to modify a car (I'm only 19 myself), biggest thing I've learned is maintenance is the best "mod", simplest way to improve your car and sometimes the cheapest. Keep up the good work, digging the sticker too btw.

BTW, does your car not have Air Con? when you posted the pics of your wrap job I noticed a recirculation button but not an A/C button. Just curious as we never got the Polo here, and my MKIV Golf came with air con as standard...

Cheers dude, some 6n2s came with AC, pretty sure the GTIs had it as standard

My car is full on poverty spec - no extra speakers no sunroof no nothing, pretty sure the only optional extra I got was disc brakes in all 4 corners

                        • Those ambers really set this off...I cannot wait to see this thing low. By the way don't buy a lip until you go low because you should buy your lip according to how low you want to ride.

Cheers guys, in november I should be in a pposition to lower it as I'll be able to get a new insurer

Also, the GTI lip doesnt swoop low enough for me to worry about it when I go low anyway so if I can find one new to me I'll go get it.

Those things are a pain in the arse to find, literally non existant and the only cheep ones are 140miles+ away

Got a lot of cool content my page, editing the aftermovie and writing up the article for our brand spanking new website

Very very excited to share with all of you guys

Also saw this there, thought I'd share. Had a nice look around it, the car is immaculate

Pretty cool to think that mine could look like that when I get in a position to do it
