  • That ziptie is not made to withstand the temperatures a muffler presents. Please remove that and fix that properly. We dont want to catch your car fire or somethin.

For your car: Keep on. Its cute and fun to read your progress.

Thanks, but thats the problem I literally have no idea whats wrong with it other than knowing it's something to do with the exhaust and have no way to fix it properelly at the moment lol

Keeeen on that! But it's illegal, meaning when I eventually do get pulled over I'll get a fine and be forced to take an M.O.T

British traffic laws do not like people like me

          • Are you going to lower it sometime? Just asking, because every bus drives lower. lol.
But nice progress, for a first car.. (my first was stock for 1,5 years.. and then I sold it.. xD)

              • the chances of that ziptie being there after one drive are slim. i once had my exhaust hanger break so i made a sheet metal strap and put a ziptie at the end which was about 8" away from the exhaust itself. it lasted all of a few seconds before it melted. if you have to use anything besides the correct equipment, use a metal coat hanger.

                • Current situation:

In my opinion car looks lovely and I'm chuffed with it, obviously I want to deck the shit out of it but I'd rather not brake the law. I'm a pussy I know

If the engine warms up too quickly the engine light comes on so since the weather has been mad here in England my engine light is basically always one. Might take the bulb out.

M.O.T is due in October, insurance finishes a month later in November.

If the car fails the M.O.T (it will unless I can pull some strings) I'll leave it sitting for the rest of the year untill insurance runs out and I'll split it for parts

Theres too many things that need fixing on it and my job just doesn't give me enough money to get it all sorted.

I checked insurance prices and as of today I wont be able to afford that either so looks to me like I'll be taking the bus after November.

Also my job is cutting hours down as my store is going into bloody meltdown, so after this month is over looks like I'll be looking for something new.

On the bright side Candy is going upwards and onwards so I'd rather dump £400 into a new camera than a gearbox. Not that I have £400 anyway hahaha

Who knows what the future holds, a lot can change before November

I'll leave you with this cool pic of me and some mates enjoying the car

                  Cheers!

                  • Hey you lowered it like... 1.5 inches or whatever you crazy brits use Just make your friends chill in the back 24/7 and you'll have maaad lows.
Whatever path you take to get to your automotive nirvana is the right path, everyone’s path is different. If more people liked cars because they are cars—not because they are a way to get attention or to way to be better than someone else—then I think the automotive world would be a better place. -benmassey

sounds like a good reason to cut the springs and enjoy it while it lasts.

also that's all terrible advice and I'm the worst when it comes to financial stability so don't listen to me

Thank you for your thoughtful advice! I shall store it... somewhere

Happy news now, I have passed all the tests which have been thrown at me for this new swanky grown up job! I applied in May and after a few tests and a assassment day they've let me know I've passed!

I have a fat grin on my face.

They said that my course will start in December, so untill then I'm still on part-time Party shop wages haha

But hey, every day is a party at Party Superstore!

However a full time swanky job in london means I will be able to afford nice things for my broken car hopefully

It currently sounds like a V10 race car because of my broken exhaust. I can feel myself getting poisoned by exhaust fumes everytime I start it up

Erm nothing has really happened other than that. My exhaust has stopped hitting the bumper so the clunking noise is gone.

I dont know how it's stopped, maybe the whole thing has just finally fucking fallen off, who knows!

The sound at 2,000rpm is making my ears bleed though so thats definitely a good thing!

Took my ambers off too because I'm a kid who changes his mind every week

I've got no pictures because there really isin't anything worth showing.

I shall leave you with a 6n2 I saw at a show recently which has nice wheels which I would like

(the car is static and owned by a girl hence the writing on the floor)

Cheers man! It's the High End Civil Service fast track Apprenticeship, which is as solid of an apprenticehsip as you can get. I'll either be working in Westminster or Croydon, not sure on any of the details yet.

                            • Sucks about the car, but sometimes tings happen for a reason. And congrats on the test passing stuff.

Oh and I laughed way too much at you putting a zip tie on the exhaust.

                              • Made some custom HELLA fog light caps sort of thing for my non working headlights, think they came out quite well!

If anyone knows a bodge MOT place in South London please let me know, I think my car is in a state where it wont pass a legit MOT and I'd love to use it till my insurance runs out

Also a friend sent me some gearbox diagrams, I'll see if I can fix my 5th gear (better late than never)

Also we do Black Candy stickers now for anyone interested

                                Cheers!
