alot of people i meet say they **** type a's but say they look good on my car. i like them because they are so basic, but thats also why most other people dont like them.

you should build one. we could use more e30 representation. alot of people seem to be giving up on them before they even get started.

    most recent 2 updates:

well i went out drinking yesterday so i didnt get to work on the bumper. i put it back on the car and drove to the spot with primer and sanding marks all over the rear trim.

today i got a coat of black on it so i can drive around with it. it still needs work but till i get some SEM here i dont want to do the final prep work.

after that coat of black i wet sanded and put it back on.

then went to AZ to pick up a claybar kit. i really needed to remove the grime that washing/waxing didnt seem to remove.

so i hand washed the car. dryed the car, followed with a touchless wash. then claybar'd the entire car, windows and all. then followed with another touchless wash.

my car saw alot of water and chemicals today :

its still wet in these pics but i wasnt going to wait for it to dry again.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

here is some interior shots, since i almost never post any. i cleaned the carpet but thats about it, the rest has the dust build up and fingerprints from the last few weeks.

real men like to be in control :

ill get to cleaning the fingerprints off and cleaning the seats eventually.

Here is the last few updates. i forget to update here.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

well it happened. it was late and there is no street light out front of my house so i couldnt see down to use my mirrors. i visually know how far i have to be from the curb based on the tree at the street. well it was night and i forgot that with my glasses on i lose depth perception. my vision is only ever a few inches off which usually never mattered, in this case it did. so as i went to get closer i just hit, and it wasnt gentle.

    carnage:

took me about an hour to tape and repair the wheel. turned out pretty much the same as before it touched the curb.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

started getting the paint back to good condition. i stopped polishing in the middle to show how bad it really was :

    unpolished:

    polished:

obviously i cant polish out the bumps no matter how hard i try, so i will still be replacing the hood and trunk. but you can see how bad the trunk really was. all those marks were in the paint, i have cleaned the car over 20 times in the last month and none of those scratches or marks came out. quick rub over with some polish then wax and it was all glossy again.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    my 2 "toys".

because of the heat and humidity i havnt been able to do much work or play on either one in over a week.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

well a buddy of mine offered to mod the strut brace for me free of charge. got it cut in half and shortened:

he re-welded every joint so the welds dont look like they were done by a first time welder anymore. i had to grind and file both sides of the brace mounts to get them to go around the centers of the towers. also the one side of the brace is at a different angle then the other. quality control at IE must be non-existent. very not happy with the quality now that i have actually had a chance to put it/them between the towers.

should be able to test fit it tomorrow after he gets out of work.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

since it was raining today i decided to do my rear trim.

removed the bumper and got the trim off. the bumper and trim all had nasty dirty under them like i took the car off roading. its alot worse then the pictures show.

had to replace the center trim as it was mangled from when the PO backed into something.

took one off of myone of my other bumpers

got the trim and bumper all cleaned up. then started to reinforce where the lights were so i could have support for the filler in the front.

thats all of that for now. my buddy brought the strut brace back to check for fitment before final welding.i spent about half an hour machining GC upper spring hats to be a press fit onto his cosmo camber plates. then he left with the bar again. all looked good so it should be back and ready tomorrow.

    wheel fitment:

i will be going lower soon, just havnt had the time to mod my suspension.

should be able to get alot of the trim done tomorrow and hopefully the bar will be able to go on.
