I second RocketSled. I was hoping that the thread would have left behind all the BS after a winter had passed but I guess not. Can't we all just get along. Thanks to everyone who likes the car. I'm thinking it looks way better than last year, and I do like it without the lip. Although I'm considering running the same lip again, but unpainted so you can see the body lines of the bumper, and I don't have to worry about the paint constantly cracking off. Bricks, my spring rates are 12kg front and 8kg rear. The rear has a considerable amount of preload due to the rear beam suspension. I still hit lip front and rear on occasion, but not that often. Tire rubbing is non existent in rear and only while turning in the front.
Well I think it's time for an update. My car was in Tuner Galleria, and I took Best Stance, super cool to get another award for my hard work. Here's a pic from the show:
I went back to oem skirts, painted my old sideskirt splitters black, and went to an unpainted sti lip for this season. I also went to Import Alliance Atlanta so some of you guys may have seen me there. Here's a shot from that:
That's not really what I'm posting for right now. These last couple weeks I've been buying parts and prepping my car to go lower. And last weekend I finally made it happen. It was lot of work to go just a couple millimeters lower but the results were so worth it. I got 4" rear springs, had to lathe my perches to make them work, extended my frame notch, relocated my AC line, slotted my strut holes more, made rear bumpstops, pulled all my fenders more, made a skidplate to protect my trans mount which I had to replace, etc. I got the height dialed in, and yesterday my car got shot for KillAllFenders. I really love how these pictures turned out and I think my car looks so insane now. I've been trying to achieve this height and fitment for the last year and a half. I finally did it. Enjoy:
Even seeing my own car at this height is staggering. Im not sure how its even able to roll down the street but I love it. Make sure to follow me on Instagram @fitthestance for far more frequent updates, thanks
