I bought a car, built wheels that don't fit by any normal person's view, sold the car and bought one that would fit the wheels PCD, sold the wheel to another guy where they don't fit as wll.

    Fixed that for you.

Buying some OEM 19s later today for the Audi for the time being...

Yeah, these things can get expensive quite fast, like any other big euro luxury car. Having owned an E38 before, I kind of know what to expect in terms of cost... but this time it's actually worth it because the car is loads nicer than my E38 was and it actually has a decent engine.

Thanks. I am studying here for a little and was looking for a junk yard that I could maybe find anything worth it to bring/ship back

                • To the few people waiting on an update...

Well. The car now looks like this:

                  I am parting it out.

The wheels were sold to a friend and are now on his E39 Touring:

                  • Is there going to be a build thread on the A8?

                    • Is that true, that German authorities started pulling away or even confiscating cars with wheels or suspensions not compliant with your logbooks or the thing you have as registration document?
I've read that kind of information somewhere in an article in the web and I'm a bit surprised now, seeing that e39 of your buddies with poking wheels

                      • I guess you can say 'it depends'.

Strictly speaking, the laws call for the wheel to be completely inside the wheel well and the wheels (along with each modification as well) have to be approved by the TÜV individually on your car, your car's papers get corrected with the new acceptable wheel setup in this case.

Usually, if the cops catch you with something not TÜV-approved, it's just a fine and maybe you'll even get a note that you'll have to get stuff TÜV approved in the next 3 weeks or you're facing a bigger fine and possibly points.

However, if they deem it absolutely unsafe and a danger to other motorists, police have the right to forbid you to continue driving the car. In some extreme cases they may even impound the car, but that's not the norm and usually only happens when there's something truly wrong with the car or the cop is an absolute dick.

so... if the law was the same in the UK, everyones cars would be getting impounded for the main reason of "the cop is an absolute dick."
                          Sad truth
I am a party pooper. I poop at parties.
