Sebastien, you'll be switched on, motivated and inspired when you come back.

Until your return, have a mad trip, check out hot cars, slay some chicks, peace.

We look forward to your return here at S|W.

You and me both, one of the massive reasons why I bought Anja.

Aha we will see, I'm hoping that when I get back, I can clear the defect on the Subaru and sell it. Once it's sold, all eyes on Anja.

Thanks man, appreciate the kind words

The last five days have been interesting. Violent mood swings, panic attacks, not sleeping, lets just say I'm not coping well lately. I completely lost my interest in Anja, I didn't go out to the garage once. Until last weekend that is.

My Uncle was down for the weekend and he wanted to see her. I grabbed the battery from the Subaru, plugged Anja all in and cranked her over. She went straight away. The noise, the smell, it got me wanting to do stuff again.

        Then, yesterday, Anja's wheels arrived.
I couldn't unpack them quick enough. I was stupid excited to see my $200AUD set of 15" BBS RS' that I had purchased for Gretl. I had a quick look over them and decided lips and barrels were needed to get them up to the quality that I expect.

I sort of sat them on the rear hubs to see the clearance, but didn't bolt them on so I couldn't really get the big picture. I might do that tonight and take some photos. I didn't realise how small they were, only 6.5 inches wide and they were almost at the maximum width I could run. This doesn't bother me as much as it would have previously. I think I am getting too old for this shit, Anja will be my daily and not illegal.

I threw the wheels onto her racks and closed the garage. About twenty minutes later I had to go back out there and take a photo for Instagram. I think I have found a bit of that passion I was so desperately looking for. I actually want to be out there working on her, something I haven't felt in a long time now.

Tonight I shall sort the garage out, take some photos and pack everything away for my return from America.

Man far out, that's a downer of a story, but I'm glad to hear you're back into it now!
I have a lot of love for the Type 3 squareback, and I'm sure it will be great

Yeah it is a downer of a story. But such is my life currently...

I finally got myself into gear and grabbed some photos tonight. Last night I shoved the Subaru in and got it all packed up.

You can see the 15" RS' in the back behind one of the 16's that were on the Subaru.

I then placed the rest of the 16's up on the racks that I properly secured.

And all tucked up next to the Subaru.

When I get back, hopefully this build gets serious.

So, the other day I headed down to the S|W headquarters in Costa Messa in a slammed 2002.

To say I was inspired is an understatement. Talking to Mike, Andrew and Richie, it made me realise that I needed to do Anja justice when I get home.

Not long now until I get back and can start getting her finished for clearing the defect. Once that's done, I can start to slowly modify her to exactly what I want her to be.

                Until then!

It'll still be a sensible daily and at a legal drive height, I will just slowly build it into something that will turn heads and hopefully stir up some purists

Have already got a few things planned for when I get home, just have to get the defect cleared on the Subaru and then Anja as well. As quickly as possible.

                      Subaru moved out of garage.

Anja moved into the middle and back up on axle stands all round tonight.
Removed bottom side trim to make rear torsion bars spring plate cover removable.

Tried to take the exhaust off (from triangle manifold) and realised it is completely rusted.
Might have to take it off from the heads and replace with other one I currently have. Was hoping to just have to remove from manifold.

Test fitted RS' up front tonight too, no poke. At the rear, minimal poke that will hopefully be pulled under when back on floor due to camber. Will find out more when I am able to actually mount them.

Now that I'm back home, have to get cracking. Gonna need to raise the suspension up in the next couple of days. More then.

Last night I got cracking on the rear suspension.
Photos are from later date (11th of May).

I unbolted the LHS rear spring plate cover, trailing arm and got the trailing arm off. I then adjusted the torsion bar one inner spline (figured that would do) higher.

Unfortunately it is a double spring plate setup, which means I hit a bit of snag when trying to re-attach everything. Need to get the inside out socket thing to unbolt the trailing arm bolt so I can swivel it enough to re-attach it.

Hopefully I can get the necessary tool and finish off the rear suspension being raised.

Today I got the rear suspension all bolted up.

I didn't grab any decent photos of it all done but I am leaving it as is and just going to replace the shocks and add the bump stops. Hopefully this suffices.

I got the quieter exhaust bolted up.

Unfortunately the tips still protruded from the bumper so I had to cut them back.

This new exhaust sits a bit lower which is a little concerning. Hopefully it will be fine. Only time will tell once I replace the shocks and add bump stops and get her back on the ground.

Because I didn't read and just looked at pics you might have answered this already... Are you going to bag this?

Loved your previous subi, keen to see what you do with this

If I could I would. Maybe in a few years when it becomes a family car and needs the adjustability, but highly doubt it will happen.

Plan is to just clean her up and drive her. Build some wheels and upgrade brakes.

So, I can't really be fucked raising Anja so she's been booked in to be raised and had shocks and bump stops fitted.

This isn't until the third of June unfortunately. So she has been put back on all fours and I will be changing my focus to the Subaru and getting that off of defect.

I might split some wheels and organise some funds for the brake upgrade too.
