a little more progress last night.

i swear everywhere I look, i find more rust. If you own a Mercedes of this vintage. Better remove all the undercoating. all it does is destroy your car.

So I'm cleaning up the firewall now. All I want to see when the car is done, is a shiny engine and master brake cylinder.

Sorry about the pictures. It was still hazy last night in the garage after I had been grinding for the last hour. I have about 10 holes to fill. Then I'll grind and fill.

Are you replacing those braces from the frame rails to the firewall? Or just deleting them. I'm swapping a Mercedes turbo diesel into mine and am going to have issues with them as well, just wondering if they are completely necessary.

Didn't know if they were structural or not. I've seen them deleted on another car but the guy welded a piece of angle iron into the firewall to compensate for them being gone. Guess I'll see what they tie into when I cut them out and go from there. Thanks!

so this is happening at 12.00 today. I need a different daily driver. my Toyota Sequoia eats a lot of gas. So does my Range Rover. This should save me $188 in gas every month.
