Almost four months? Time goes by fast.
Within that four months some major changes have come about. First and foremost, I basically got the car mocked up/put together.
It looked cool, but for some reason, it just didn't do it for me. It didn't satisfy what I was looking to get out of the project this time around. I took a while off from working on the car seriously. I made the decision that, more than likely, the car wasn't going anywhere this summer.
That said, there were a few things I was happy with. The headlight retrofit came out great. I got some courage one day and hacked up my passenger side headlight (It's cool, I've got a spare) to create a ram air intake.
So, I took some time away from the car and basically didn't touch it for a while. At the beginning of June, I flew out to Australia to spend a few weeks with my girlfriend. While I was there, I did some soul searching and thought long and hard about what I was going to do next.
After thinking about what it was that rubbed me the wrong way, I narrowed it down. It was just too much like a Subaru. Too much like almost every other boring WRX/STI everyone sees everyday. I asked myself how I could do it differently, and did some research. I've seen the sedan rear end conversion on the wagons, and it's cool, but there are a few out there already. I wanted a way to make the ass end BIG. Like really goddamned wide. My research brought me to the L'aunsport wagon widebody.
Last night, I pulled the trigger and ordered it. The car goes up to Godspeed Fabrication in Auburn, WA on August 19th for tubs front/rear and some other minor work.
I'm parting the car now to get it down to a roller. The wheels are gone, as well as some of the supporting mods. I also purchased an EJ22T short block that I plan on doing an EJ22T/EJ257 hybrid build with. Shooting for 550WHP+
Here we go again..

I promise I didn't forget about you, Stanceworks!
All kinds of goodies to share with you today. I got some new parts in the mail:
-Kartboy rear subframe lock down bolts
-New license plate frame ( I still love you guys on bags)
Odyssey PC680
I also went over to a friends house and set up a make shift flocking station in his garage and got most of my interior finished up:
Last but not least, I got my stuff back from powdercoat. Very very pleased with how it all turned out. Especially the brakes.
Up next is to rebuild the brakes with the new rebuild kits I got from Subaru. Finish disassembling my alternator for paint, finish up the rest of the interior, and finish up the wiring. Getting closer to being able to drive it again. Can't wait.
