I was thinking of changing the name since the word missile is not a glamorous one but it's not entirely mint either, body wise she is a little beat up if I am honest. She is a Chicago car through and through and has seen some shit, there are a ton of dings, dents, scratches, paint repairs and even a tiny bit of rust but the pictures hide it very well and when I start thrashing on it there will be much more.Originally posted by scott.k View Postshit! amazing work on the engine bay and the motor, going to be nuts
btw, change your title, this thing is way to mint to be a missile, i came here expecting to see a beater and got this instead
I personally like the way its aged and have no plans on painting it, if I were to rename it though I can call it the soon to be drift missile!
Thanks!Originally posted by LaMaR- View PostBeautiful build thus far, where did you get the heat shielding for the Firewall?
The gold foil is just a heat reflective adhesive, there is a ton of it on eBay or if you **** having money go the legit route and source the real gold foil that NASA uses but that stuff is hard to come by.

Pre teardown obviously

Had to drill tap crank sprocket to pull it off the snout, no biggie ebay ftw

The rotor oil pump looks so cool

All stripped down, off to the machine shop for a hone

Back already, I also painted the block and the crank is back in

ARP studs

Fully torqued!!

Back together, polished the manifold and crossover tube

Time to go back to your home, but in the other direction

Laying some gold

This took much longer than expected

Came out nice and should hopefully reflect some of that turbo/manifold heat
