    thanks! I appreciate that!

    once the frame is welded up, the control arms refinished, the powdercoating done, we will do all new body mount bushings, put the frame and motor back in place, then off to paint!

    going to keep it the dark blue colour, but maybe add a TEENY bit of blue pearl to it, just to make it pop a bit.

    And, that allllll leads us to today!!!

    on a body dolly. looks so sad.



    so.

    these pics are of the frame, the wrap is done for the most part. the final huge welding gets done tomorrow. It basically makes every piece into one huge solid structure.

    This shop cut no corners. the body mounts are even enforced (most places do just the frame, not the mount areas). the strut mounts are enforced. the control arms are enforced. the rear open area of the frame is enforced. it's wild.

    Now, that leads us to my more recent shenanigans..... the frame off!!!!!

    this was the day I took it to the shop....



















    then a few days later they sent me this:

    frame is off!




    A few days later, I went to the shop, snapped these pics.


    pull up and see these:





    then go inside to see:



    this is the floor of my 50 year old car.......











    as i was there, the frame came back from being sandblasted. Due to the ENDLESS amounts of rust proofing, it had to be done to clean the frame enuff to be able to weld to it. lol.

    50 year old frame cleaned up. NO painting done or any work. just a clean up to get ready to be enforced.









    These are the first few pieces of the frame wrap done. They are cut, a small weld to hold them in place. once done, it ALL gets welded together.

    these welds are just to get pieces in place, then one big weld is done and finished.




    Went there the next week:




    insanity!

    MOST pieces are cut and in place. Once all pieces are in, they all get welded together, cleaned up, then off to powder coating!

    Long story short, my xmas gift to myself last year was a 1964 Impala SS.

    Numbers matching, %100 original interior, %100 original metal.

    I have a build thread running for this elsewhere, but thought others here may appreciate it.

    While there is no "stretch/poke", there is lots of slammage and laying frame

    This is the day I went to go and look at it (hence the plate). In a heated garage with 2 dehumidifiers running. Pictures and models of the car were all over the garage and in his house (which you can see in the pics).

    I then snagged some wheels.

    13" 100 spokes. Knock off adapters with Impala chips.















    the day I towed it home:






    The pic doesn't show the condition of the ORIGINAL rims/caps.... Flawless.

    It then got taken to Altered Altitudes (airassisted.ca)

    2 viair 450c compressors
    2 5 gallon tanks
    asco Valves (8 total, 2 per corner)
    1/2" lines
    100-250 psi adjustable pressure switch
    7" Slam Specialties bags
    Digital gauge with 5 pressure sensors.
    one 3/8" valve for just the tanks (so i can purge the tanks when it's parked)
    mini switch box with quick disconnect
    2 water traps

    this is THE original carpet that came with the car in 1964. This has not been replaced. (the old man had plastic wrap on the floor, still have the original 1964 floor mats too!)
