I completely admire the work being put into this and how you're sticking with an OEM+ theme. I love lowriders especially the ones that are driven. The over the top ones that need to be trailered everywhere just don't do it for me. Keep up the fantastic work on this impeccable machine!

Wow! Amazing buld thread. This thread is probably one of the best on SW. I love Impalas. Good work on yours too. BTW, that red is 61 Impala belongs to Terrence Keeby of NYC....Rotten Apple. It was featured in Lowrider Mag a few months ago. Beautiful ride too.

Hope you keep it that way
Yah. It will be fully winter stored. Krowned. Etc. I plan on having it for a very very long time. My 5 yr old nephew says it's his when he gets his license tho. Lol

Actually it's not too bad. It's just thin strips welded on. Don't know exactly. I'll ask.

The car is slow as is. So weight isn't a major concern. Lol.

The thing that urks me are purists! If i bought a FORD GT40 1964 numbers matching and wanted to plasti-dip it and put vossens (which is crazy) on it, so be it. It's mine, not your's! so WHO gives 2 F's about your opinion on how to spend my money?

Augh Damn purists.. works my damn nerves LOL

    RANT ^^^

OP i love what you are doing man! the amount of work and detail you've put into this is amazing. I'm going to pass this thread to my uncle who's restoring a 66 Deville vert

This is false, airbags can make things hop, it's just less commonly used.

Also I follow this build in too many places.

as for what needs all this enforcement?

x-frames are solid, but they bend fairly easily.

plus, i'd like the car to last. hence why we are also coating the frame.

once all that's finished and it's assembled, it is heading off to paint. the good thing, the body is so solid. zero rust. it will basically be a sanding, touch up some small things, repaint.

i'm not going as crazy chrome and detail/pinstriping like most do. I'd like to call it "OEM+". Still keep it simple/clean looking, but freshened up...

I could throw springs back in it, and sell it as a restored 64.... more broad of a market for a cleaner/simple car than something over the top - that's if I was to ever sell it (which I have 0 plans on doing).

plus, my 5yr old nephew has already laid claim to it. he said it's his when he can drive. LOL. (he's already a big car nut)
This is my kind of classic lowrider build. I can appreciate the work that goes into a car like the Chilango, but it's too over the top for me personally. I really like your philosophy with this car.

Although I can see where you are coming from, and part of me dislikes the fact that a matching numbers car that was 100% original and immaculate is now being fucked with, im not going to discourage the guy.

Wrapping a frame makes it stronger for more then "taking the landing".

Only a small part is sad, the rest of me is glad to see on original lowrider build on Stanceworks. OP keep doing what you're doing, Love it.

at this point you're just killing gas mileage for "protections" sake... waste of money in my mind if you're not making her into a full fledge hopping up and down lowrider.
Xframes are easy as hell to find. The Canadian Frames are the hard ones. If you cant find an Xframe forsale within 5 minutes on the internet theres something wrong

as i said..... i posted a video earlier. we upped the pressure from that point. and we will be upping it further.

plus, slam specialties bags - 600psi rating

and at $120ish a bag, who cares?

xframes arn't exactly the strongest frame around. wrapping it won't hurt. and it's not getting moulded/painted/pin striped/etc..... it's just a wrap for longevity. is it over kill? yep. but i'd rather do it, have the car last me a life time.

i appreciate your opinion though. that's exactly why I bought the car in the first place. it was insanely hard to find something that wasn't tacky or destroyed/rotten.

bags can be undone in an afternoon. the enforced frame will last a lifetime.

Agreed, people that say I ruined my low mileage SS by adding bags don't realize you could remove the bags and have it back to stock in a day.

Albeit my car isn't an all original '64.
