I should have more pics up soon. welding was happening today, so if that gets done in a day or 2, it then hits the powdercoating.
as for what needs all this enforcement?
x-frames are solid, but they bend fairly easily.
plus, i'd like the car to last. hence why we are also coating the frame.
once all that's finished and it's assembled, it is heading off to paint. the good thing, the body is so solid. zero rust. it will basically be a sanding, touch up some small things, repaint.
i'm not going as crazy chrome and detail/pinstriping like most do. I'd like to call it "OEM+". Still keep it simple/clean looking, but freshened up...
I could throw springs back in it, and sell it as a restored 64.... more broad of a market for a cleaner/simple car than something over the top - that's if I was to ever sell it (which I have 0 plans on doing).
plus, my 5yr old nephew has already laid claim to it. he said it's his when he can drive. LOL. (he's already a big car nut)

Nice! Jeff and them do good work. I'd like to get him to do mine soon on my Lincoln. Switching to Juice I take it? If so what are you going to run?

i know for a fact you chubby bitches could suck the air bubbles out of a brake line
1) ride comfort. We are gonna put dual port bags in front. Up the pressure. Make it hop.
2) insurance. So many classic ins companies won't insure hydros. They will for air. Not for juice. Which I don't get. Lots of guys on juice were dropped this year!
Crazy Wrap for just Air lol. Can't wait to see it finished! Do you have a thread on Layitlow?
kinda. i didn't bother with it much... the forum is ok, but not really a thread i visit often.
and yah, this wrap is overkill for air - but, my air setup isnt slow up and down. it is pretty violent. I posted a video earlier that showed it at around 180psi, to which i've upped to 230... we are gonna crank it to 300..... or higher (depending on results)
plus, going dual port bags and cranking the pressure up to get it to hop, it will need it.
PLUS, it will be hydro ready. everything is good to go. drop em in and roll.
i dont see how boxing a frame (frames are cheap, can get a new one?), powdercoating it for longevity, and bags are "chopped up"?...
bags can be undone in an afternoon. the enforced frame will last a lifetime.
finding a mint original frame for a 64 impala will be difficult, it just irks me to see such a beautiful all original car get its frame wrapped... theres no logical reason to do it... airbags wont make your car hop up and down... and if you're gonna be putting 300 PSI through an air bag, you're gonna have to be changing bags every few months..
frame wrapping is usually meant for cars that hop a few feet in the air... or at least bounce in the front and the back... the wrapping makes them stronger so they can take the landing
at this point you're just killing gas mileage for "protections" sake... waste of money in my mind if you're not making her into a full fledge hopping up and down lowrider.
as i said..... i posted a video earlier. we upped the pressure from that point. and we will be upping it further.
plus, slam specialties bags - 600psi rating
and at $120ish a bag, who cares?
xframes arn't exactly the strongest frame around. wrapping it won't hurt. and it's not getting moulded/painted/pin striped/etc..... it's just a wrap for longevity. is it over kill? yep. but i'd rather do it, have the car last me a life time.
i appreciate your opinion though. that's exactly why I bought the car in the first place. it was insanely hard to find something that wasn't tacky or destroyed/rotten.

Xframes are easy as hell to find. The Canadian Frames are the hard ones. If you cant find an Xframe forsale within 5 minutes on the internet theres something wrong

Although I can see where you are coming from, and part of me dislikes the fact that a matching numbers car that was 100% original and immaculate is now being fucked with, im not going to discourage the guy.
Wrapping a frame makes it stronger for more then "taking the landing".
Only a small part is sad, the rest of me is glad to see on original lowrider build on Stanceworks. OP keep doing what you're doing, Love it.
