Take this advice Looking good! I shall one day import one to the UK! As for suspension setups, I'd personally go the coilover route as lowering springs are fine to an extent, but then you need shocks that won't burst or bounce about everywhere to go with them, and in the end, ends up the same price or thereabouts man. Just my 2 cents
Having money after college >Celica>school. There

I believe the coilovers will be the route. Here is the setup I wish to run:
-T3 front coilovers, will run about $220. Includes springs
-Because of the shortened struts, I will need to run shorter inserts. I'm gonna run SW20 mr2 REAR shocks in the front. Will be about $120, unless someone here wants to give me their old ones
-Shorter rear springs, $100 rounding up a bit
-1969 rear Camaro shocks. Just under $100 for both.

All in all, it will be about $500 or so. We shall see

    • Took it for an extended test drive today, and this time, the video worked! Sorry for the first minute of doing nothing (edited it on youtube, didn't change anything). it was about a 25 minute test drive, video cuts out at 16ish. I was also very spacey and focused while my dad was asking some questions so somethings I say sound weird and trail off. Anyways, it was a good time, got high octane gas, and everything seemed to work out (other than a speedometer cable issue). Wheels are due next weekend!

Haha makes sense. My dad would probably have a heart attack If I drifted with him in the car

            • Word of advice, don't drift it. Save that for later like at the track or somewhere safe. Last thing you need is to park it in a telephone pole or tree!

              Shesh, I sound old...

Great work on getting it running! Bet it feels good!

Yeah, I should probably clear that up, I was 90% joking. Too many deer around here to driver safe normally. Plus, I am more of a grip person anyways.

Tires coming Monday, I'll have then on midweek next week. Then, coilovers. Finally. I know all of you are tired of the pointless posts, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I kinda figured you were joking, just don't want to see you wreck your car!

The second time I took my truck out I spun it in the middle of the street and almost soiled my shorts and gave myself a heart attack I told myself never again, and only do crazy stuff where safe! I do my driving at 10.5/10ths at autocross nowadays

                  • Well, some $650 dollars later, here they are!

I really like the fitment of the rears. It could come down a bit, but I don't mind. Fronts on the other hand...

Well, let's just say I'm looking for the best cost to utility setup for suspension. I would love coil overs right now, but I need to fatten my wallet a bit for college, and spending $400 on those won't help. We'll see how soon those come. Donations are welcome

                      • Considering there just plain steelies they definitely fit the car well. That does sit high on stock springs huh? Honestly just cut a single coil off it couldnt hurt Keep workin on it man its a cool car, Money will always come in its just a matter of time, and its always worth it.

I like them, but honestly I think I could've gone with 16's. 15's are the awkward size, in between classic JDM wheels and large size wheels that give it an aggressive look. Still, I like them

Yeah, plain jane steelies. They will go to a gunmetal grey eventually. Too shiny for my taste.

I found a set of coilover sleeves for about $45, then I'm going to go with the SW20 shocks I found. Should give me a good drop. A cut in the back may be in order with those as well

                          • Sadly, my flickr killed itself and the older pictures are no longer linked

As far as an update: I got a new DSLR to go with my 35mm, so I took it for a test run.

I'm still at a crossroads right now as to what I want to do with it.
I would love to lower it and throw some fender flares on it, front and rear spoiler too, but it seems everyone is doing that.
I would love to give it a slight lift and give it the rally treatment, along with a tube-frame front bumper.
I would love to cut of the twisted chassis and replace it with a spaceframe and a 1GZFE V12.
I would love to do a lot of things, I guess I just need more cars.

As far as progress, this is it for now. In two weeks I head off to Arizona State for college.

Cheers for now! I may pop on occasionally, but no updates here.

                            • Id do the lowering with flares thing.

But then again the rally treatment would looks sooo good.

Also I really need to get myself a 35mm for my camera.

Totally do it. The lens I used was from my film camera, and it works awesome. Getting things in focus isn't the easiest, though.

I think I have some secret plans for the Celica, you won't hear about them for a while though.
