Future: 3.55:1 with Trac-Loc, More Lows (Commence to Cutting), Wheel spacers for better fitment, Possibly New Wheels.

So I have been wanting to delete my fancy fake wood grain for some time, Just couldn't put my finger on what i wanted. Then I was checking out Zebra's FX35 build and was blown away buy the vehicle wrap vinyl, particularly the brushed black aluminum. Thought this would compliment the tan interior nicely. So I ordered some and got to work!
Then shit got crazy, my garage door opener was grey/tan with blue buttons and I always ***** it, sooo...
Got to work on the continuation of changing all button illumination to blue.
Incandescent bulb out
Resistor added to PCB and existing trace cut.
LED into holder
And its blue, way too bright though. I'm swapping in a higher resistance resistor soon.
Then onto my trunk lighting upgrades, trunk lighting was via one festoon incandescent bulb, so it was shit!
Replaced it with a strip of LED's
I will be adding some blue accent lighting to the amp rack in the future as well. maybe have blue and white with a switch to change it.
That is all for now, thanks again for all the positive feedback. Let me know how you feel about the infinity emblems, is it lame? I though it kind of mimicked a newer car with factory installed premium sound system."The Merc" (1999 Mercury Grand Marquis LS)

Splitting hairs with the Infinity emblem - it's your car and I don't think it detracts. Maybe try to get some Alpne emblems from the newer Dodge? I know the manufacturers don't match, but the system brands do!
Oh, and FYI, this is the most gangster old man ride ever. I'm very impressed with your quality engineering skills.

Thanks SD202, I do need to permanently mount my tanks and paint them or something. I also want to build a false floor to hide the air ride spare parts and tools and cleaning supplies. Hopefully this winter, I was also trying to figure a way to shroud the hinges and make them look nicer."The Merc" (1999 Mercury Grand Marquis LS)

This is great to see. So very out of the ordinary, and really utilizing the potential of this platform.
Of course that is coming from a fellow ME with a Grand Marquis.
You're definitely lucky work lets you play with Solidworks and their machine shop. That pretty much makes the sky the limit on this project.

Thanks for the kind words, That is not actually my work letting me do that stuff. I have Solild Works on my home computer and have a good connection with a machine shop, i.e. very reasonable prices.
About the 4.6l and my comments, it would appear a lot of folks think that there is lots of potential in them, that's great but it does not solve the issue I was having, which was not enough under hood room for my EDC. As you can see I did eventually get it crammed in. I'm also still not convinced you can get the same performance for the same investment from this setup over an LS swap. I am not branded in any way, I use facts in my profession and in my personal life to make decisions. That being said I'm not apposed to bolting some stuff up to this engine on the cheap, if it ever calves though I cant say its odds are very good!
This is funny, short of the vulgar word for mentally challenged!

That's true, As much as I love the 4.6 and its power. The LSX is half the cost to modify and make power. More Reliable too.Originally posted by Jesus Christhe mustve enjoyed that bj.
