My suggestion is GMC Sonoma SLS wheels or the Chevy S10 5 spoke wheel of the same vintage.

Most of the guys on here don't have to worry about their children taking the car out Friday night, or driving it through a drive thru on $2000 wheels. Don't sweat it, keep on working at it. -Andy
      You speak the truth brotha!

I found some C4 corvette wheels tonight. I like them a lot. I'll need spacers but that's okay. They are 16s and have good tires. I'm going to temp fit them at the guy house to see what they look like on the car. We'll see.

You're probably gonna need huge spacers I believe the offset on those is like et70 but it will look good. Might be pretty hard on your wheel bearings as well

The car cost me $650! And I wasn't sure where I was going with it so I didn't want to spend alot. I like how it has turned out. I like the matte black and the stripped hood (for now but things change).

I'm not going to put a $2000 air ride on this thing, that would be a huge waste of money. It's just a toy I tinker with. I drive it daily but it's not my daily driver. We have 4 vehicles, this is just a money pitt. Being married with kids I've got more important things to spend money on.

I like parts of this and love the hot rod inspiration. As someone else who wont/cant spend a ton of money on their car I feel for you and understand where your coming from. If I may offer my opinion and a few pointers there are plenty of other inexpensive wheels out there that would better suit this in my opinion. A set of diamond racing wide steelies (maybe in white or red) or the wantanabe banna splits you mentioned before. Both would be a better fit. FYI GM 5x4.75 lug wheels also fit with wobble bolts. Also the car is lowered but its not really "as low as possible". There are plenty of e28s on this site that are much much lower on bags or static some coilovers some on cut springs. Just for reference, check them out.

feel free to check out my build, i'm doing it on the cheap too. Car for $300 + $600 in DMV fees. misc wheels with tires and parts for probably less than 800 total.

I like where this is going. there are a few bmws out there running corvette sawblades. but with the ET you will need large spacers. shouldn't be an issue. i have a set of 1.25 myself.

other GM wheels may have center bore issues. im running GTA wheels that are like that.

Thank you very much for your response. Very well thought out. It is much appreciated. Last night I did a lot of research on the blades and after further investigation it will cost a much to get these to work as much as it would to just buy the proper fitting wheels. Wow, lower it more? I'm sure I could, I'm not sure I should... Right now its on cut factory springs and suspension. The shocks and struts are billies but old. The ride is fine, not all bouncy or anything like that which amazes the ell out of me. I always swore I would never ride in but springs. But after much reading on here and other sites I had decided to go that route a it was least expensive and well... "everyone is doing it" haha!
I really appreciate responses like this versus, comments like this looks like shit or nothing good here... That just shows lack of intelligence and maturity. Which I am sure there is much of on here being more of a younger generation thing. I'm old and crotchety but I'm not a dick... Usually...

                  Thanks again!

                    Lower ittt.

Seriously, you have a steel pan and it takes some work to damage those. I'm probably a little under an inch from the ground and I've never hit mine, you just have to be cautious.

I understand going the cheap route, especially on a car you paid so little for, but please fit some decent wheels. Even some OEM GM wheels would look better than some Ebay knockoffs, IMO. Or dig deep on Ebay and Craigslist and you'll be surprised with what you can find. I scored a set of 16" Borbet Type Ts and 16" BBS RSs once for less than 200 bucks shipped, each.

In that case I understand, as I've seen 16 year olds with lowered cars blow a pan out and keep driving with no oil to blow up the engine. Carry on.

Okay so I looked closely at the underside not sure how you drive around with less than an inch because the bottom of the control arms are lower than the oil pan and I have roughly 2-3" max at the bottom of my controll arms with about 4" to the pan. That would mean you control arms are literally, on the ground...
