Thanks for that guys, but the wool/sheepskin look feels really cheap to me - so many people look at their rooted seats and whack a sheepskin cover over the top and call it a day.
I'm sure it's super comfy, and it looks alright, but the association is unbearable for me.
Mostly finished my bike now - need a longer chain and some brute force and ignorance on the handlebar stem. So I will probably head back to the bike store and get a new chain this week, then no more distractions. Time to get fit I think.
Dan (my mechanic friend who currently has my car in his garage) says that the crank sensor is NOT the issue - something between the ECU and coils, might be in for new coil packs - I'll be going in this week with a laptop, and Dan will show me exactly how this crap is wired.
And then:
If you looked closely, you'd see it's just a cable - the bike shop gave me handlebars with the brake levers attached already and all wrapped up in bar tape, so I just routed the cable along the frame to clean it up. No brakes at the moment, but I will probably get a front brake before I start using it for commuting - there are some pretty serious downhills on my route, for that reason I'll probably swap over to the singlespeed side of the flip-flop.
Anyway, this made me sad, but it's probably right, so I'm going to shut up unless I have actual progress:

Ahhhh i see! Ill try and take a pic of my bike sooner then later i hope its locked away!
That video is scary as hell, haven't ridden a fixie before, so I don't know how to skid. But there's a good 2-story high bridge with about a 500m downhill on the way into uni, so I'd still rather not die
Umm, so just a little bit excited that she's almost back on the road.
Went down to the workshop today. Pulled apart the ECU. Realised that the standard spark output (D14 on the MegaSquirt board) is not connected at all... wtf. I remember that in the ECU settings, the spark output has a second option...
Put the ECU back together, change settings. Sounds better but doesn't start. Spark plugs wet as a middle-schooler in a strip club. Clean spark plugs.
YES YES YES.
She cranks, and then dies, of course. The tune is still crap, and this happened when it was running. Dan (the mechanic) says it's misfiring (while it's running), and I mention that I might have returned the spark leads in the wrong order on the ignition module. A good half-hour of changing around the spark leads, with results I would expect if I was working on my own (it gets worse). Anyway, that's all I did today. Dan is ordering me in some new spark plugs in the week as they were wet again by the end of our testing.
Leaving the engine to evaporate all of the unburned fuel overnight, Dan will check the firing order and chuck in my new plugs, then we should be back home for the rest of the bits.
SHE SOUNDS LIKE A DIESEL TRUCK WITH HALF THE EXHAUST OFF AND I LOVE IT.
You should really try comedy if you haven't yet.
I think Dan will have fun with your paycheck. If the order is wrong that might be the whole reason why the spark plugs get wet. Fuel is injected, lets say to cyl #1, while the spark goes off at cyl #2 = wet plug at cyl #1. Only by some chance can a wet plug give an actual spark, so in some time the engine will eventually die. Sooooo the point of buying new spark plugs seems quite useless.
Always check sh*t before someone tells you to buy new sh*t.
I'm really not good at coming up with stuff on the spot.
Yeah, the engine wasn't sparking at all. I'm surprised it fired after we cleaned the sparks, I've been cranking it for months with no spark. Dan is a friend. I trust him to do it right.
