So, I think we have forgotten about another order I made - or havent we . . . Today I was happy to receive this lovely box

Inside it, I found this - so light, I thought the box did not have what I ordered inside it in the first place - Aluminium and Superleggero edition DO make a significant difference I guess

Some details of the quality of the wheel

Time to remove the old wheel which was tired

    Side by side

Removing it from the snap-off adapter

New hardware ofcourse, and I went for the black ones

    Installed

    Assembling the horn button

All ready to go in the car

    Me likey

And of course, because my steering wheel

Big thanks to Kostas for the photos taken tonight.

    Hope you liked it too

    Cheers guys

So . Some pics of the installation process of the harnesses . . .

Opened the boxes, nicely put inside, awesome quality to begin with.

Started bolting down the rear towing points

Replaced this on the battery ground

    With this

    measured the correct lengths

Then, I thought it was time, to remove the last grey part of my initial interior, my front seat belts.

    Removed the b-pillars

    Before . . .

    and after

OEM seatbelt assembly is heavier than the whole Scroth assembly

So, in they went, and for now I left the b-pillars, lower and upper removed. I will see how it goes.

Overall exceptional quality, better than the almost identical Sparcos I used to have back then in 2009, super light, great release-mechanism, and easy installation, despite the 6-point option I went with this time. Totally recommended. What is more, a harness bar will be on the way, once Tom is in the mood for it, LoL.

Hope you liked it too. Cheers.

Dont worry guys. months and many runs after their installation, not a single problem with the clearance

i was a bit worried too, but hey, if there was an issue it would be solved, you can tell by now

however stay tuned cause you will be in for some nice surprises

So . . . time to reveal the story behind the wheel change. I have always LOVED them OZs. However they were a bit - un-wide - if I can use the term for this car. They kinda let it down due to both their 8x18 size, and their ET45. I didnt want to go with spacers from the beginning. I almost did in my mind at some point, but didnt go through with it ever.

It was time for a change. I did see that Rota released their Grid Drifts in 5x112 fitment 9,5x18 size, in ET38, that I thought that I could pull off. I always liked this wheel VERY much, however I would never trust wobble bolts with this kind of power to fit the initial 5x114,3 they offered. I mean, even the wobble bolts' manufacturers and resellers adviced me against it - lol.

So I talked with Rota Wheels Uk, and they hooked me up, big time. Wheel weight was just 1,2kg more than the OZ, and being the 8 -> 9,5 change in width, it is pretty logical too.

I will let the first pics do the talking . . .

Lost NO time at all, and went to the shop to mount them, and see if they fit . . .

    Starting installation . . .

Tight fit isnt the word to describe how tight it was with the caliper - and yes, it does clear the caliper with no modifications - win

First wide - ass pic to show - trust me - more will come, when Kostas sends me more over - big thanks to him for all the photo work he offered as always

    Cheers

    Oh I forgot to mention

I ordered a new steering wheel too, a rather limited one, since my current one is worn . . . so . .

    Specs:

The OMP Corsica Superleggero, a dished steering wheel made completely from aluminium, equating to 40% lighter than equivalent model Corsica finished in suede. Shares the same 350mm diameter, a handgrip cross section of 30mm x 28mm diameter and the same deep dish of 95mm. Supplied complete with horn push and OMP badge.

    • Classic design deep dish rally wheel
    • 40% lighter than the equivalent model
    • Supplied complete with horn push kit

So here is an update I was really looking forward to.

Back some time ago when I was running Sparco Corsa seats, I had some black FIA 3" Sparco harnesses installed too. Sadly I sold those. I have been wanting to go for some harnesses again after my RECARO seats. So I was thinking Scroth which were always, propably the best out there, or TAKATA ones to suit my JDM-ish theme. I saw TAKATA options, both in the classic green ,and in the black with green lettering. The first ones were nice in my head, however way to "loud" even for my tastes. I wanted something more subtle to not mess my all-black interior so much. Black TAKATA with green lettering would be an option, however, if you are to go for something, go for its original form I thought. So I decided to go with the german manufacturer.

Just made an order. Here is what it includes . . .

    FIA Approved And EEC Approved
    • 3" Wide Shoulder And Lap Straps
    • Lightweight Alloy Adjusters
    • Clip In Fittings With Eye Bolts Supplied
    • Pull Up Lap Strap Adjusters
    • Clip Fittings Removable On Shoulder Straps For Roll Bar Attachment
    • FE Push Button Release Buckle

    And some reviews

We are blown away by the quality of the Schroth Profi III-FE Harness Belt. It is one of the lightest and strongest harness sytems available today. The Profi III-FE is sold as a four point belt with 3 inch lap belt and 3 inch shoulder belts. This belt is best used if you are running a Stock seat, or any seat that didn't come from its manufacturer with a hole for the substraps. It is available with the push-button FE camlock. This FE camlock has an orange push button with the word 'Press' on it. Since it is sold as a four point belt, it comes with Schroth ASM technology which helps reduce the chances of submarining under the lap belts. An Anti-Sub Belt can be purchased separately to make a 5 or 6 point harness.

This is the Push Release Button

And also bought these, to go for 6-point option as well

Cant wait to get them, to totally remove OEM front harness and install these

    Cheers guys
