    I think I will have to discuss with you in a year or so when I will work on my engine so you can give me some advice! :-)

    Now I have ´cleaned´ the valves. But as you can see on the previous pictures, I didn´t touch the valve seats yet.
    So without touching the valve seats, I did a vacuüm/leak test. Used an old vacuüm hand pump and a rubber hose with a rubber sealing plate attached. Worked like a charm

    In the video in the above link you can see the pressure dropping relatively fast. That's not supposed to happen.

    Test results with untouched valves and without lapping: (Note that 1.00 bar is absolute vacuum. The old handpump that I used, only went up to max 0,90 bar due to internal leaks)

    INTAKE VALVES:
    1:____0,60
    2:____0,84 (surprise)
    3:____0,72
    4:____0,79
    5:____0,60
    6:____0,72

    EXHAUST VALVES:
    1:____0,55
    2:____0,50
    3:____0,60
    4:____0,60
    5:____0,40 (whut?)
    6:____0,50

    I seems like I've got some work to do...

    So I did.

    Used two types of grid of sanding paste, lapped like a mad man. Had some improvement, but still not enough to my liking.
    I put one of the rubber suction cups on an old sparkplug and used the power drill and some heavy metal polish to get those valve seats as flush as possible.

    RESULTS OF ALL THAT EFFORT:

    OLD NEW

    INTAKE VALVES:
    1:____0,60 --> 0,90
    2:____0,84 --> 0,90
    3:____0,72 --> 0,90
    4:____0,79 --> 0,90
    5:____0,60 --> 0,90
    6:____0,72 --> 0,90

    EXHAUST VALVES:
    1:____ 0,55 --> 0,89
    2:____0,50 --> 0,89
    3:____0,60 --> 0,89
    4:____0,60 --> 0,89
    5:____0,40 --> 0,89
    6:____0,50 --> 0,89

    All with barely any, up to ZERO pressure drop. And then consider that the gauge on the pressure meter doesnt go further than 0,90 bar...

    I am a very happy man

    NEXT UP: Engine assembly!!

    I thinks it is about ime that I'll update this thread with some of the progress I made (well, sort of..) the last couple of weeks.

    First, I shall start with that I am a complete moron. Because after installing the new rocker arm assemblies onto the new camshaft, I forgot that I turned the crank a little bit.
    Result: See picture below. When you see it.....

    So new task: CYLINDERHEAD OVERHAUL.

    Some cleaning with a soft wire brush:

    Then cleaning all the ports and canals which resulted in this

    Removed the old headgasket

    Next step: Cleaning the valves

    Now everything is nice and clean

    Then the new parts came in! new valve, gaskets, clutch pressure plate and other small bits ´n pieces...

    Well, I ended up replacing all these worn-out motherfuckers

    Most fun part is their price. Which is 34,75 €uro's the piece. YES. THE PIECE. And I needed twelve. So do the math....

    Upside is that they also increase lift with another 0,5 of a milimeter. Which ofcourse is very nice

    Oh and we brought back the Jaguar to my uncle. Not my problem anymore.

    Motor update pic time!

    Okay. I knew the old camshaft was shot. And so was the camshaft of the 2.6, which are interchangeable. But what I didn't know was that the rocker arms were shot too.
    Yes. I could have known, but I didn't. So I was disappointed. Especially when you consider that these little fuckers cost as much as 50 to 60 fucking €uro's the piece! FML. Seriously.

    Now I am trying to source some 2nd hand ones down to get them polished/grinded. Should be much cheaper I hope.

    Well... at least my new DBilas camshaft looks awesome

    Zhe oldz camshaftz:

    Zhe new:

    Scored rocker arms

    This picture shows the comparison of the rocker arms between the 3.0 and 2.6 engine:
    "Afkeur" stands for Shot
    "half" stands for Meh
    "Goed" stands for Gooooood
