so quick crappy update from the last couple of week
With UD coming up next month as well as my MOT end of this month, i thought i'd get down to trying to fix all those bits that i always put off to another time.
firstly it was off to Ollys for a full service, along with rear PF bushes and new front top mounts
its not in any particular order but Nick got on the case to fix the more important ones first which were
Leaking front bag
Aux belt
wednesday last week got over to nicks to replace the Auxillary Belt as it was making a wee tapping noise from near behind the front wheel
this was the old damaged ones
after which nick mustve got hungry and died [lol-lol]
but thankfully some lovely diabetes food came to the rescue [In-love]
then on Saturday we got to tend to the front o/s bag that started leaking slowly again.
some of you may remember back in july last year that same bag was leaking and it was down to an O-ring that had split and had since been replaced. So we suspected the same fault again
everything stripped down (including the bags)
and this would be the split oring as suspected
its been replaced and now working fine
really glad i got the Accuair elevel management as it would automatically correct the ride hieght even whilst driving when the bag was leaking. so i'd defo be buying accuair stuff again. i wont be buying bagyards again
the next day i thought i'd take a friend to go pick up a car we've seen on autotrader. that meant travelling through central london, and obviously having nothing to worry about we went about our usual selfs. but this happened:
(copying and pasting from IG)
Was driving past Parliament Square in Westminster and was spotted by two officers on bikes. They stopped me for the poke... Which was later confirmed legal by a senior officer.
But in the process of stopping my car they noticed that my MOT had run out last week and not at the end of the month as I thought so.
So that lead to £60 fine and a further two traffic officers and later a Vosa Inspector coming down to confirm that the poke was fine but one tyre wasnt. So a further £60 and 3 points on my license. [N] Not the way I had planned my day to go.
The officers were polite, patient and not on the powertrip flex.
My fault that I had remembered the wrong date for my MOT renewal and overlooked the low tyre tread. However the first two officers were pretty damn adamant that the poke was illegal till the MOT inspector said otherwise. Unfortunately the first two officers had left buy the time that judgement was given, so they didnt get a chance to find out that they were misinformed
so car then had to be towed away.
so my list of things to do now:
New Tyres to be bought
MOT the vehicle
Sub face template
Vag-com + check lateral sensor
Fuse holder
Fit new aerial base.
apologies for the crappy pics, all were taken and had been raped on IG haha
its a 2011 2.0 TFSI engine (CDL) out of an Audi S3 (265BHP) with only 9,000 miles on the clock! finally managed to get a hold of one, been looking since the winter
seeing as i would be going decat and non resonated exhaust pipe when the new engine goes in, i decided to have a bit of fun and remove them off the car now whilst the v6 in still in there unnecessary... by Muhammad Hamidi, on Flickr
so as some know, where i live, theres no parking in garages and such. its mainly on street parking and you can apply for garages but expect not to hear from them within the first year at least lol
so Noz came to the rescue having sourced a small garage a few mins from my house that belonged to Noz's sisters mates old ex husbands garage so i was able to store all my engine bits in there for the time being.
then waited for it to dry... IN THE BLOODY RAIN as the garage has no power or water access, we have to wash and stuff at my house which is about 10mins drive away. The joys of living in central london!
