This thing is proper rad. And if you're enjoying what you're doing then fuck what anyone else thinks. Look at Rusty. Mike chopped, dropped and didn't give a fuck about smoothing the welds or the rust but it was still an epic car. Keep doing what you're doing dude. Looks a lot of fun to get sideways too

as for the mk2 i dailied it for a while, but now its stupid low and needs a trans, not too worry though ive got my trusty old truck to drive in now, if only it didnt get such bad mileage

im sure alex has some more details of what he did while i was at dinner for entirely too long, but once we got the car to his house we jacked it up, connected the brake lines, tomorrow we are going to get fluid and pads, we fixed some wiring, and then i left

we are using the box as an air filter because it was raining when we took it off the trailer.

while i was gone alex cleaned the carb some, but one side isn't jetting correctly, he also polished the air filter bottom and top

i took some pictures of the worst areas of rust and damage on the body



here is the bent frame, its hard to tell, but it is rippled kinda badly

that gap isn't supposed to be there


tomorrow brakes, and maybe even getting rid of that stupid not chrome boso exhaust

yea man you should drive back to see it before brake is over, or after brake ill have it back in greensboro so that may be a bit closer for you




so i said were ditching the non chrome boso because it just wasnt fitting with the car



old


instead i salvaged one of the side pipes off this truck i have, alex and i chopped it up, and now we have a chrome tip, i also used the glass pack from the truck exhaust, because a straight piped m10 is a lot louder than one would think. it actually sounds good now. we do still need to polish it, but it should shine right up



new


we worked on our welding, and were getting better i guess, still using flux core, but it bonded fine

how it sits off of the car, were going to header wrap up to the chrome tip so it doesnt look as bad, we may also want to shorten it up so that it is closer to the car





alex took a lot more pictures of the exhaust we chopped up, and some of the welds so hopefully he will post up in here sometime today or tomorrow, im heading up to burlington now to get some of the brake parts that we forgot, so hopefully by the end of tomorrow we will have some actual brakes
