I started making the mount for the accuair manifold and air tank from some scrap steel. I used a bender at work to form the centre part

    [/URL]

The legs are just tacked together to check the height and so on

I want to shorten the legs and raise the centre plate after seeing this....I took it apart after I took these pics to make some adjustments

The manifold needs to be closer to the tank too..

Finally I have some worthy updates. The car needed some mechanical TLC before I could start working on the air ride. I've been cruising this summer and fixing little problems as I go along. Last week I started working on the trunk install so I'll be able to route all the airlines and wiring to the Accuair controller. I want to enjoy the car till the end of summer before pulling the suspension apart.

I'm not sure of the final colour scheme for the trunk yet, but I prefared a painted air tank to bare aluminium. I chose a colour that matches the steering wheel.

Green paint is etching primer for the paint to bond to aluminium

Final colour, not happy with the finish because I ran out of paint after 1 coat.

Changed the 90's tape player to a vintage looking retro sound unit

Finally I started my motor yesterday. This engine rebuild too way longer than expected as I had to wait for parts and have the pistons modified to work, after I had installed the head etc. I timed the diesel pump following the workshop manual using the "drip method" and it fired up after a few tries. I took the car for a spin but it feels like its not pulling as much. I'll take to a shop to have the pump set properly.

A small update, still rebuilding the motor. It needed a rebore and I cleaned the head and lapped the valves, now is time to put it all back together

My car didn't have any seat belts and found these in a scrapped 115. They're not original to the car but I like the old look they have. A good scrub and some paint later....

Thanks guys...I haven't started bagging yet because I'm working on the engine. It was burning way too much oil, so much that the sump was dry. I started stripping the engine and I found the cylinder head wasn't torqued down properly. At least the internals seem ok and the motor was overhauled at some point judging by the gasket and sizes stamped on the pistons....I want to inspect the crank before putting it back together

    Boom:
