Fuck, that's how the bay of a 996 should have always looked like.

I continually see this build thread on the first page of this section, and to be quite honest, I've been resilient to open it up, mainly because I don't overly care for 911's... and no one does anything crazy.

That being said, this is FUCKING AMAZING.

    You have my attention, sir.

You cant use a silicone 90* in place of that intake piece? Can you take a throttle cable w/ the end on it. and cut it long enough so that it goes to meet your original throttle cable, Crimp them together.. profit?

Go to a bicycle shop, request a "tandem mountain bike brake cable". It has that end that you need on it and should be about 7 or 8 feet long

The thread today by the guy who was super proud of himself for changing the oil on his own made me laugh.

996 forums are funny because of the price point they're at now and the type of car it is. You're either a younger guy (like us) who bought one because they're a great performance value and a lot of car for the money so we bought one to modify the shit out of and have some fun with it (and, let's be honest, how cool is it to be able to say you have a Porsche?).

OR you're an older, middle class guy who has waited his whole life to finally buy a sports car and you think you just bought a Picasso on wheels.

    There's no in between. LOL

I love reading Rennlist topics they are Awesome.

Such favorites as: "Oh noes! I Just washed my car and now my rotors are rusted, Do I need to go to the dealer?"

Or: There is a green light on my dash board under my speedo that is a half circle with an arrow (cruise control light), does my car need service?

And my personal favorite: " Help my new Porsche does not have back up sensors, how will I know when I'm about to hit something while driving in reverse?"

Those old dudes on the list tend to get cranky when some one shows up not handing out any fucks when it comes to a 996. And the hard core fans get bent out of shape because they honestly believe they have the best thing on 4 wheels ever conceived by mankind and it should be placed in only the highest regards possible.

So when you show up trying to "improve the car" that simply does not compute.

If you need a good chuckle, go find other threads and posts by that guy. He thinks the 996 is some kind of precious piece of art that is to be looked at, not driven, because it is a delicate flower that mustn't be soiled by the cruel ravages of the outside world.

Pretty sure he thinks his car is on the same level as a Ferrari Daytona or something. I'm sure he'd be a BLAST to have a beer with (er, sour apple martini probably).
