In! I've told myself since I bought my C4S that if the engine ever shit the bed on me I was going to do an LS swap.
Speaking of removing the engine, how long did it take for you to drop the motor out? I'm due for a clutch and I'm trying to decide if I want to do it myself of just pay to have it done.

in for updated and to see where this goes - How much of a pita was the engine removal? Looks like you only had 2 floorjacks and a cherry picker for it?

do you also avoid people with widebody 912s?Originally posted by Rebounder View Postthey don't give it a second look because a second look would mean seeing those ugly headlights again. I give any 996 a second look to what person with such horrible taste I should avoid should I happen to see them walking down the street.
Nick, I'm glad you're sticking with the OEM headlights. Only 996.2 headlights would be appropriate, but that's still kind of posing. Those 997 conversions are atrocious... I looked into them back in the day when I was young and naive with my Boxster :P

Nobody gives the 996.1 a second look for anything interesting. So I'm going to rock the runny egg headlights.
Basically, I'm trying to keep the LSx swap costs as close to amount generated by selling parts off the 996 (engine, intake, cats, fabspeed exhaust, etc).
Nick
