As far as color goes, I would say the Alubeam silver that MB uses, or BMW's Shadow Chrome would be awesome. Those colors are not cheap though, so wishful thinking on my part.

There is not a lot of Black ones out there, and it is amazing when done well.

        Have fun choosing the color

Sanding.. sanding... and more sanding... ;D

Thankfully I am really enjoying this part. The project is finally in a stage that is moving forward. It's starting to take shape now and I am finally getting an idea of what I have to work with.

Tonight I sanded down the trunk lid, taped off the interior so I cans start working on the body, and started the passenger quarter.

Here are some shots of the trunk lid. It is in excellent shape...

              A little before and after..

Got the interior taped off quick..

Then onto the rear quarter. I couldn't wait to finally rip into the body ;D

Here's a little snap shot of all of the parts I've started sanding so far. Still have a long ways to go but in about a week I should be ready to start the body work.

Also I think I finally came to a conclusion on a color... I think ???

I do love the cream interior but it is jsut clashing with everything that I am trying to accomplish. Soooooo.....

My buddy Brian was at a salvage yard and stumbled across my dream interior. I will be picking up the front and rear seats, the door cards, and the black steering wheel. I decided to go this route instead of purchasing the parts car. I will be able to get the glass and everthing I need from this one and not have to deal with getting rid of a whole car after.

I will be ditching all of the cream and doing the interior red, black, silver, and other similar accenting colors.

The exterior I have decided to do a medium-darker fine metallic grey. Something along the lines of a Audi Daytona Grey kind of color. Have to find the perfect one that's not going to break the bank.

I have a super busy weekend but am going to try to work on the rest of the sanding. I also forgot that I haven't hardy even touched the doors yet.... Woops... :-\

That would be damn cool. If something similar wasnt just done on a similar car I would consider it.

If la k didn't show everything that would be an option.

great work. Always interesting to uncover the history of a vehicle as you tear it apart. Excited to see where this goes.

Really enjoying this build, reminds me a lot of my build. Good to see you doing things the right way! I really liked the cream interior but if it clashes with everything then I can understand. The new interior will look badass too.

I've been hard at it, and too busy to update. Finally have some down time until Sunday. I've been staying up WAYYYY too late working on this thing way too many days in a row. Needed a break... Lol.

I have went through more sandpaper than one would have ever imagined. Went through probably $300 worth so far Here's what I have went through so far. I'll probably make a shrine out of it or something when I'm all done.

My friend thats providing moral support and coaching me with the body work and I decided that the spots that are the most rusted will be sandblasted. Because one of the two most important things about this build are to never have rust appear EVER again. Second making sure it is 100% safe.

I am down to the detailed and most tedious spots not to mention the most time consuming. I have marked out on the body what neds to be done to make the car straight with sharpie and we will be using that as a guide.

But enough chit-chat here are some progress pics.

Action shots of me stripping. Brace yourselves....

I also decided on a color. I am going to be going with Porsche Slate Grey.

It's my bday on Sunday so I thought what a better way to spend it than doing some body work with some friends. More updates to come after that. Then the plan it to get her primed and get that body protected. Then it's get low time
