    Merc engine !

The best solution for a w108 if you wont to have 6 straight cylinders is a c36 AMG engine (3.6 L M104 I6 AMG) the biggest 6 straight ever made. Great engine and a lot of them on the market if you search long enough

Somehow I think an toyota UZ engine would fit this car quite well... A nice v8 with lots of torque... And a lot cooler than an American v8 in my opinion.

Another little update, I cleaned out the inside real good and scuffed all of the floor panels. I used por15 in some areas, and then undercoated everything other than a few spots that I needed to do a bit more work on.

Final finish will be paint over the undercoating leaving a nice speckle finish.

Got my new pedals all mocked up (note third pedal, heh). pedals are from a Subaru BRZ and I used a portion of a crash bar from a 350z as the mount/support for the pedals.

I was going to stick the booster in the wheel well but after mocking everything up it was just to close for comfort. So I opted to make a 90 degree under dash setup instead. I just need to finish up the linkage, mount the clutch master, and add the return springs/stops for the pedals. It's been a bit of a mind fuck getting the pedals right. Lol

I have been a bunch of other tasks that I should be wrapping up here shortly but I can only go so far without the motor. The motor, yeah about that.... Had a serious change of heart and will be throwing an inline 6 in it. I just love the simplicity of a nice clean looking I6, And I dont need a ton of power so I'd prefer to stay NA.

Have a few different options I have been looking at..

L28 with triple webers or ITBS
    2jz
    Or maybe something bmw

I would look at something mercedes but there isn't jackshit for anything with manual trans that I can find. If you have any realistic ideas throw them out there. Maybe there's something I am missing. Cheers.

    Update!

Been hard at it. I was out of commission for about 3 weeks with a knee injury, but still got quite a bit done since I posted last.

The bodywork in the engine bay is nearly finished. Just a few spots that I had to weld on need some attention but it's getting there.

In between everything I've been bead blasting any parts I think I may be using an getting them primed.

This is some of them. I love having a blast cabinet

And lastly I finally dug into redoing the front end. I had been procrastinating the living shit out of this. Thankfully it went smooth and I am much more happy with the results this time around.

The first time it took me like 200 hrs, including bodwork, or something like that lol. I put in 2 full days this weekend and all that's let before its ready for bodywork is finish around the grill surround. Sigh, live and learn.

My ace in the hole was a front lower valance from a 70 Mach1 Mustang. The center section will be removable and separate from the fenders.

Meh, chevy engine in a classy car is wrong... u can pick up a totaled amg at COPART, for a few grand and strip it and put a modern day engine from a newer benz if you got that far. chevy motor, in a benz, i dunno, its white trashy....

    take notes..
