I couldn't agree more. This car has been so great to me and such a source of escape when I need to just get away. I'm pretty confident I could hop in this thing and go cross-country without issue. That's a good feeling.

Enjoying the car is the fruit of your labor in my opinion.

It's been a while since I posted on here because mostly I've just been enjoying the hell out of my car but I have done a little bit of work to it recently.
I had my buddy Jay over at Sports Car Restoration respray my grille spoiler (eyebrow) since all the paint decided to lift off it, and had him color match my mirror cap while I was at it. This is something I've wanted to do since the car was painted, just like a late model GLI or GTI had from the factory.
I also re-wrapped some of my wiring with hockey tape to get rid of the ugly oil-soaked split loom. I have a few more left to finish up this week and I put a new coolant neck on the side of the head since it was cracked. The next big thing is my steering rack has some play in it so it's time for a fresh manual one. That's gonna be a shitty job.

I'm still looking for a mint/NOS Hella Heckblende for my car. The one I got to run last year was borrowed, so if you know anyone who has one and is willing to sell it please message me!

thanks!
took a ride down to PA the other weekend & got my new wheels from Rob over at Collective.East. If you ever need anything awesome/vintage/rare VW absolutely hit them up.
16x7.5 et30 RH Classics, fully polished faces & barrels.
See you all at Sowo!

Here's a couple shots of the car at Staggered by Sam & Tom from More Than More

thanks sir! I've got some ideas brewing and I've changed direction a couple times but I think the end result is gonna be worth it. Trying to be as patient as I can with wheels, etc.Originally posted by tylerlb View PostJust read the whole thread. Awesome work, look forward to your next updates!!!

This is probably the only VW thread that I'm genuinely excited to read.
Looking forward to what you do this year.
Your car was absolutely mint last year.

thanks man, I'm on the hunt for a Heckblende of my own.Originally posted by kittenpuncher View PostThe Hella Heckblende completes the rear IMO, I love those things. I want one for a b3/b3 passat wagon when I own one, one day.
Can't wait to see the new wheels.
I had a killer 1-off set of wheels lined up to be shipped here in late Dec/early January but some shady shit happened, I'm not gonna name names, but they got "damaged" and I wasn't contacted for a few weeks then was told I can't have them anymore.
I have another set of something else in mind right now I'm trying to secure. I'll post up as soon as they're in my possession
