I know the feeling of wanting to drive it. Mine's in the shop. Bought it, drove it for two days, broke down, been down for two months. I bought it from a dealer, like to put a brick through her window. I have a 300SE myself, his name is Oskar. I'm trying to figure out if our colors are the same or a little different. Did you figure out what engine you had in there, if it wasn't the original.

Where'd you get your corner lenses?

But seriously, as a W126 owner I wanna know what's happening with my car's more upscale brother.
Both motor and trans are dead. I have a trans, but I can't afford to rebuild the motor just yet, trust me, I have dreams about driving it because its been sitting too long. I started a new, higher paying job so it'll get fixed soon. I have been working on my Camaro, there's a link to that thread if you are interested.

Found out that this motor isn't original to the car. Makes me wonder if it had a AMG motor and somebody blew it or snagged it. Either way I'm too broke to fix it, its been siting for 3 months now. But, fortunately a old friend who has wanted my Camaro since I've owned it is willing to buy the car, so that means the Mercedes will get a new motor and will be back on the road within a month. You guys have no idea how much I miss driving this thing.

Started tearing down the motor, need to replace a shit ton of gaskets and do the chain/guides. I found out what 32 years and 200k miles does to a motor.

I need some hex head sockets before I can go much further, so I'll be buying a set of those pretty soon.

Good to see that you're still sticking with this, its definitely a worthy car
Motor is gonna get a top end rebuild once the Camaro is sold. And other things will be installed, like exhaust, my brakes, and curtains.

Bought a replacement trans today, 76k miles. Ships out from MA Monday. I'm selling the Camaro here pretty soon, so the Merc will be my daily once again.

i know one of the three e30's i have owned over the years had an issue with eating flex discs. when i got the car i pretty much was so hard on it it ate the one it had up that was on it when i got the car. i put a new one on and all was ok for a couple weeks or less then it ate the center support bearing. i replaced that and within a week the flex disc was tore up this time i hadnt been hard on the car.
thats when i checked out r3v and people were saying its necessary to replace both at the same time.
I'm not sure if there is. Ill have to check for it when I pull the heat shields under the car to replace the trans. Car doesn't move so its not a priority for me.

Found a 85 500SEC Euro for parts. Runs and drives fine, just has a nightmare of vacuum issues. Sell wants some stuff off it, but nothing I need so I'm picking it up for $250.

Lol, I've already got the money for the swap. I've even sourced a Getrag 265. No odd vibrations, just it won't go in gear. You put it in any gear, it doesn't go anywhere.

Gonna check with a buddy on getting stuff made for the swap and doing it. He's got the tools and resources to do it, so I just need to see how much he wants to do it. Lol
