Well did some of the last finishing touches on the GTI before H2O.
Went over to Andy's house and we got started. We ran up to Lowes to pick up wood so we could build a false floor for my trunk set up so I would have a useable trunk again. made it a two piece floor which made cutting out the tank area so cake. built the back area first then made the front section. Andy also cut out the three taps on the front grill used to hold the gti badge so now all the honey combs in the grill are open.
All I have to say is after make the floor to hold my air ride and my false floor and just doing basic fabric warping is that I have a big amount of respect for people who do custom interiors like seats and dashes.
wow.. what a read. This has taught me that things are not as simple as they usually seem in these build threads. There are ups and always downs from smashing sumps to taking that perfect picture. Getting your car ready for H20 must be brutally cool because its the biggest show in the U S of A. Coolest thread iv read in a while
God damn it's a purdy thang. It almost fills me with regret for selling my bunny
Keep at it, you do things properly proper
Thats that plan. Wish I could have got different wheels before H2Oi but at tax time my buddy Zack Bell will be building me a set of custom 3pc wheels (design my own centers as well).

I have had a lot of ups and downs in the past 4 years that for sure haha but everything teaching me something new. Every mistake I have made has made me do something better every time.
here is another picture of the trunk. it looks clean and proper with or without the cover on which is what I was going for.
Update. Went to H2O, hung out with friends and things.
Car drove there and back fine. Put the car up for sale/trade because I wanted something different.
All I got was weak offers and things that made me want to bash my head against a wall. So I have given up on that idea.
So now the car is getting new tires for the steelies and some nice things to prepare it for winter.
New wheels will be picked up before springs and I'm going to make sure I get something 17x wide and stupid.
That is all. Have a good day.
