Purple looks way better than white! Does the lip have a yellow pinstripe or is that just tape to protect the lip?
just tape to protect the lip.
Ok guys here is what is going on.
The wheels are going back into Davids hands at Memory Fab. The wheels are going to get re-built with new barrels that are not double drops. This will solve my mounting issues and let me run the tire sizes I want.
I can't thank David enough for with all his help with these wheels and taking them back to make them work.:beer:
I will also be running some temp wheels as mine are getting re-built which im also really stoked to run.
Well since someone asked I guess I'll do an update.
I have been busy getting ready for H2O most of all, getting our rental paid off and saving for the trip as it will be my only vacation all year so lady and I want to enjoy it.
After Andy P. bugged me for months about doing it I finally redid my trunk set up for the air ride. Went over to Andy's house in the morning and we started on the build. I stripped my trunk out and cleaned everything in the trunk. Plained and going to get the materials took the longest but it was all worth it. pretty much all the wires are hidden, the pressure switch is going to get moved to the side of the tank to hide it as well. Before.
After.
Still have to make a cover for the new set up I'm a lot happier with the new setup.
Little mod that I got from Andy...
Went to Zack's house Sunday and thought it would be fun to try on some Th-Lines. To bad Jays built them so wide and with such low offsets.....
Now on to my wheel issues. As stated before the barrel profile on the wheels makes it almost impossible to mount and good amount of stretch, which I need. So I sent the wheels back David's way so see if he could be build them. But in the last few months I have had a lot of things come up and a lot of things happen that have made money really tight for me and my family. I just don't have the income or the time to help david prototype the wheels right now. So I got my money so I could pick up something cheaper and pay some bills. David fully understood were I was coming for and where I am at. I would tell anyone to use Memory Fab for refinishing and wheel rebuilding needs still It's just not in my cards right now.
But I did pick up something cheaper that I'm still really happy to have picked up....
17x8.5 et13 and 17x10 et20 Borbet Type A's
I have always wanted a set just never found any in good spec's. I know it's be done and blah blah blah... I don't care I wanted a set and Im stoked for them to get here.
Wheels get shipped out today. So stoked! The guys I picked them up from sent me this last night..
Also went back to my old ways. get out of here Purple!
In other awesome new my rental for H2Oi is paid off so now just getting all the loose ends fixed on the GTI and I'll be hanging on the strip in a month.
No updates on the MKV. Type A's will be here Wed's
I spent the morning getting the lady's car in order. New rear tires on the Alphards. Switched from the stupid 225/40 that have been on them since I bought them in 2010 to a set of 215/40 512's
Next thing for her car is to raise the motor to help takes some stress off the cv's.
i lovvvedd the white rs's, car looks great tho man...cant wait to see the new wheels mounted!
I loved the RS's as well, one of my biggest regrets is selling them. But at the same time really happy I picked up the Type A's to break away from the normal bags + RS's = MKV
Looks like the Type A's will be one tonight. They are sitting at home waiting for me. Get off work and go to the my buddy Tim's shop and get the tires on.
