The rise of a Lady - or - The first Audi A2 build thread on s|w
I have been at the saddler's place and got some leather on my speedometers dash. You see I am quite the leather whore.
****Newsflash****
New wheels found and ordered. AND - surprise - there are 8 of them available.YES!
Besiders looking cool, they're pretty light. 10,2kg (~22.5lbs) per wheel in 8x18!
Great news! Wheels will be delivered today at the wheeldealer's place. So I made an appointment for friday so that the TÜV guy can get this approved as soon as we throw them on. I can't wait for friday!
Also, dropped my hood and Votex wing at the body shop yesterday. The hood had to be repainted because somehow the clearcoat was coming off (ugly shit):
That's why I am running now with a ghetto style rattle canned black hood of a friend. BEWARE!
So, I get the stuff back on monday and I hope it will look good. It's my first time with that bodyshop and I really hope that they are worth the money.
Bad things first, to mount the wheels with my 5x100 spec special bolts are needed. Which are not on stock in the wheeldealer's place...or anywhere near it. It is even possible that we need to get them bolts from switzerland.
Anyhow, for that reason there are only teaser pics on how it will look:
Well, I think it looks pretty good. Mucho better than the old Brock wheels. Or at least better fitting. Now I just need to wait for the wheel bolts to show up. Its just a 100km (~62miles) ride to the wheeldealer's shop. I like to do that more often just for bolts. Really.
Oh, and they broke my door too:
That is why there won't be a monday update with the Votex Wing. Sorry guyze.
Well, because we lacked 10 of the 20 bolts needed, the mechanic decided to put the wheels on the passenger side and get it checked from the TÜV guy. The TÜV guy approved that and so he checked the numbers of my car (inside, drivers side) and forgot to close the door.
Meanwhile the mechanic was busy on the passenger side and did not notice that the TÜV guy forgot to close the driver's door and lifted the car...until the driver's door hit the engine of the car lift. A loud CRACKING noise and that's it...
I hope there's no damage to the hinges.

Lower your expectations, you'll be much happier.
Oh, and your car too.
Looks like a big audi tt, and thats a good thing! Great choice on the wheels too, they really look good against the red paint. I also like the black hood too. Would be cool if the audi badges were silver though.
