The rise of a Lady - or - The first Audi A2 build thread on s|w
Thanks god tuv is not so strict in Lithuania. You just need to be able to drive onto the platform which is not very high. Of course i cannot do that now, since my limo is 37mm off the ground
First: Ghetto-Style whitening of my winter steelies.
Second: Then after that some luxury on the inside: Steering wheel with new leather, Audi-S5-Style-speedometer (with hanging pointers!), cupholder in the back and a tray below tha handbrake lever.
looks good, but i think you should go air. you can drop it on its nuts, and raise it to proper height when you need the TUV (which im guessing is the inspection place) to approve it.
Yes you are right: TÜV is the inspection place in Germany.
I thought a lot about going air in the beginning. But put it aside because of three issues:
- There is no "plug & play" solution available for that car which is big problem number 1 since this is my daily and I cannot put it out of order even for a couple of days.
- No "plug & play" means custom made which again means that I need the okay of TÜV (= expensive because lots of testing and paperwork needs to be done)
- I need to drive a car with such a kind of airride first. Because the coilovers that are currently mounted are a pure pleasure to drive and I would never pay a lot of money to get a car that handles worse. But I do not know a single person that owns custom airride.
That does not mean that it will never happen, it is just put back when theres nothing else to do. (And before that there is an engine to look at )
