      • Well, I neglected this thread quite a while now. Lemme see. Ah, yes! The anti-roll-bars:

Here some shots from the box, its contents and the loveletter from H&R. Also some superpro goodness.

First of all: I will never ever call a car my own with no aftermarket anti-roll-bars. The handling of the car vastly improved beyond my wildest expectations. Mucho love back to H&R!

Next step was little but neat:

        Old metal valve cover:

        New ones from Audi:

Sometimes the little things do matter.

Then I decided since my engine is now close to 200.000km (~125.000miles) I want to know what my turbocharger is doing, so I got myself a multi gauge that needed a pretty fit to the car. So I got to work:

At this point I just started to fail and fail. I just couldnt get a smooth surface without wrinkles. I was a pile of sadness trying to admit my incompetence.
But behold! A friend from the netherlands came to the rescue! He told me so send him this piece of crap so he can save the day.

After I got it back, the pieces went to a leather specialist:

I stood in awe as they arrived!

        ...to be continued.

          • Next step was sound deadening. The aluminum chassis tends to transmit sounds pretty good, which in turn is pretty bad for "sound comfort". On top of that Audi decided to save weight with this car.

So in return I did the only right thing and put some weight to the car. You know...because of reasons!

You know, it's all fun and giggles when you start...

...and 13 years are a lot of time to gather some dirt behind all those covers...

And at this point I asked myself: What have I done?!
I was tired and thirsty (stupid me didnt bring hydration and there was like desert style summer going on)...

Well I kept on going like being in some kind of trance...

...and was well rewarded: Gold Finger! I am so Bond!

            • After that there was someting going on with my car: Noises that foretold the end...the end of my installed coilovers.

That sucked and to be honest, the road performance was lacking quite a while too, so I decided that needed to be tackled. After lots of searching and talking I got a brand new KW V2 coilover set for a sweet price.

Needless to say: In with that suckaz!

Left the new one and on the right the old one. Well the old was dipped in rust prevention stuff for oldtimers. Ew. Wont happen for the new ones, they are stainless steel and supposed to not rust. (lol)

This is my trusty friend. He always helps me out with those stuck old screws and bolts.

Well I certainly am a messy guy while doing stuff on the car...

              And done! Love the views!

              • More sound was needed, so I decided to drop in a subwoofer. A friend of mine recommended it, so I gave it a shot:

                But actually...

...I had absolutely no idea what I was doing and the installation instructions didn't do much good either.

Half of the car's insides needed to be removed AGAIN because the remote for the sub had to be put in. With it's cables from the glovebox to the subwoofer and the to the battery. Yay!

Look at the fat bird that sat inside the garage. It was looking for a cool spot because fucking desert Gobi came by for a visit. We called it Margaret.

Also, I went full SPARTA! that day.

After that successful testing took place.

Hi...your car is very nice! I've already take this car.
Can I ask you where you have bought the Audi-S5-Style-speedometer (with hanging pointers! ), cupholder in the back and a tray below tha handbrake lever?
                          Thank you so much.

It is basically possible to swap just the mountings but this would have lowered the with of the axle for a centimeter (0.4 inches) on each side causing my winter wheels to not fit anymore. This would suck.

                            Thats why the swap.

So now we have the rear axle from the 90hp diesel in it which came with rear discs from factory. Since I needed massive help from a friend with that I was again not able to take pictures of the process because I tried to help as much as possible which does not include lazily taking pictures.

                            Sorry!

So here the result, I am pretty happy with that.

For mounting the rear axle 90hp, what changes did you have to make?

                            • You only need to swap out the both rear handbrake cables. You can keep the lever and the first cable.

I got the speedometer dials from here: https://k-tec-carconcepts.de
For the hanging pointers you just have to put them on in the 6 o clock position, no further changes are needed.
Cupholder and tray were genuine from the Audi dealer.
