Saving a Porsche. Vr6 Turbo power

  • I just figured that air ducts in wheel wells would ram air into the engine bay and out of the back of the car, same with the top mount setup with an air scoop.

    The only problem would be the stationary engine bay temps

    Another option would be to cut out the section between the muffler tips out and run a slim intercooler between them with heat insulated piping. With that it shouldn't be too hard to set up a diffuser that would route air through the intercooler while smoothing out airflow under the car.

      • start of a new intake. Matt at haggard fab made this plenum for me and will look much better than the temporary square one need to figure out the best place to route the intercooler then i'll add the tb plate.

            When the car is moving, there's pretty decent air flow in the engine compartment (don't forget it was originally air cooled). Sitting in traffic might heat soak it a bit, but once you get moving it would cool down pretty quick.

              yeah i can see that. i'll probably use the cool side of the wing to install an oil cooler. those temps get a bit higher than id like.

                  • thanks guys. will be more updates soon. car just ran flawlessly to georgia and back and i was super stoked on that. i did change out the slave while i was there as the one was starting to stick so better safe than sorry
