I have no space to do bodywork.., but i have it and thats the most important thing...

We put the 'vert in its storage, need to sort out some stuff to it to keep it on the road..,
mostly old car problems, suspension , engine, interior...

Bought some 20" Irmscher rims for the Vectra (the car behind the Omega in the last pic),
when they're on i'll figure out how much drop it needs to look ok...

Well the Omega, it is still where i left it, i have silly ideas for the engine.
It would be the same but not...

The new rims starting to take shape, barrels for the front should be arrive next week...
Painting the faces is another story.., the painter wants 800€/745 USD...
That's not happening.., i'm going to paint them myself...

Other than that i don't have anything to report...

And to salvage this post from being completely usless here
is a kitten on a slice of bacon in space...

If you run wheels the fit the stock fenders they don't look to bad, but it's hard to pull
of 11s in the back with the straight arch...

    I will finish this, eventually
Hell i may even make it to some meets

The car is back on its own feet.

    Atleast for now...

A few posts back you can see the drive shaft bolt which was hold in place with a zip tie...
Got a new one already, just need to put it in.
To put that bolt in and tighten the other two, i needed to loosen the slip yoke.
    And broke the rubber sleeve...

So the drife shaft has to come out again.., while i'm at it i'll replace both hardy discs,
bolts in, and then put the shaft back in for good.

Some wiring for the reseve light, most likly to drill a new hole for the grommet.
As the factory hole is out of reach below the heatercore.
And i'm not pulling the core or the dash...

And then the header stud.., not looking forward to this...

But as the new rims take shape, i enjoy working on the car...

I dragged myself out of bed at 10, in the morning. Which is pretty unusual for me...
The things i'd do for 200€

Last week i freed two 9.5" breyton from their inner barrels, to my surprise they were
7.5" wide and not 7 like i thought.
Well i'm not that upset about it.., afterall the rear wheels will be 11"wide.

My hand for comparison, good that i have small hands...

Now i can't use the 225/45s i have, as the would stretch to much for my liking.
245/40 should match the 215/45 for the fronts.

Speaking of the fronts, i don't have the barrels jet, but i most likly go with 7".
Which would have result in 9.5 and 10.5, but as the rear are 11x17 now, the fronts
would need to be 10" so i don't have them 1.5" staggerd like the style 40s.

But i have about 7mm to the strud, and don't want to run spaces.
So i can only go one way...
    Anyway fenders are cheap...

Also went to a junk yard, got some stuff like a undamaged Pedalbox and
some bit for the other cars i have...

    I'm totally motivated, very mysterious...

Just writing this down so i don't forget how to thread...

Transmission is in place, like in the car, like bolted in...
    For good, for now.

Went in pretty smooth, couldn't align the clutch, tool is garbage.
So lift it, put wood underneath, lift more, more wood, not fast but it gets your there.

The thing you can see hanging down from the engineblock is the autobox support.
Stick shift cars usually don't have these, but apparently they fit, so they stay on.
Somehow you gotta tame the 170nm (130 lb·ft)...

Took 45 min overall to install the trans, shifter linkage was a little bent, since
the parts car pretty damaged, so i had to bent it some more, drill some holes.
It's way better now, but still tracking down a new old one...

    This is before.

    No pic of the result..

You may noticed the clutch cable in the first pic...
    Well, it was to short...
    It's all about size...

Had to order a new one, took four days, not that i'm lazy or so...

Driftshaft went in smooth too.., just have to adjust the length...

I managed to loose a bolt, i was smart enough to buy some of these
earlier. But they are fore the 3 Liter.
They are M12, the 4 banger has M10...
And Opel doesn't has them in stock...

In the front you can see the trans brace.., the bigger on behind that is the old
one from the autobox.., don't know if the normal stick shift cars have it..
But it fits and nothing is hitting it, so it's staying.
    Afterall it's a racecar...

    Brakebooster is back in place.

Paint isn't looking that good, but better then before.

In the pic you can also see the new header studs.., well atleast 7 of them
One broke, and as usual it's the one you can't get to easily...

No biggie, just get out the welder, put ground on, turn on the gas
    and...
There was no gas in the bottle...

    Well that's it so far...

    It's almost done.

    almost done

    almost done
