not much of updates since I've been tied up with life, but I finally got lift time at a buddy's garage so I'll be doing the engine install that day. So I went ahead and clean and painted the alternator and power steering pump along with making brackets for the air vane.
also removed the volvo lip and front facia to beat out some dents along with heating and shaping the lip to fit better.
better updates coming up this week and only 13 days left till the car show!

loads of progress, mad I couldnt get to the parts store to get the last few things needed.
so after constantly loosing lift time I score a place... what I hope will be my new place of employment since the owner seems fairly impressed with my work!
so got is loaded on the roll back and moved from my garage to about 1/2 a mile down the street.
and sat for the night waiting.
next was picking up the engine from the machine shop where I had been building it, had to say it was a little nerve wrecking to just have it back there afraid it was going to break free
and back together again
next was mounting the clutch on, it had a little life left and since I know I'll be pulling the trans apart soon I was comfortable to reusing it.
it was very hard to strap such a nasty trans to such a clean engine, but as mention it will be back out very soon.
also need to to invest in a leveling bar, makes like so much easier when trying to put it in with the trans mounted.
but after a little work it was in, managed to not damage the firewall too.
my new exhaust was removed to be scrapped for a new one next week
in no time had the bottom all done, never put a drive shaft in on a 4 post and wouldn't recommend it since all 4 tires are on the ground
started on the tops and realized the filter may of been a little too big
a wee bit...
oh well just tiled it down for now.
looking more like an engine bay
got everything hooked up minus the power steering and a few connections, so thurs I'll finish that off and get fluid in it
till then

so little set back. so started off with finishing hooking up the last bit of wiring and hoses. first test showed several fuel leaks from reusing o-rings so those got replaced. Then next was tightening a few coolant hoses THEN THE BIG MOMENT! with fingers crossed and deep breath taken I turned the key and..... nothing. After some testing learned my starter was toast probably from all the cranking that had to be done when he had poor compression. So not to accept defeat it was time to push it.
seemed like he wanted to start but was getting no where and ended up flooding the engine.
so while I'm stuck waiting it was time to do something with the height that I was never fully happy with.
so the suspension came back off and with them being already cut I was able to just impact it off without loosing a hand.
then another coil was removed
and reassembled
then back on the car
much better!
once again has rake, which the rears will be address tomorrow
now don't this setup isn't staying long, plans are this summer to get the bags on the car once is running right... but that's just later down the road.

....and done and running!
I will said the exhaust will have to be next because the car is stooooooooopid loud. I also has to recut the springs because that extra coil i cut ended up being too much, within the first 20ft I high centered the car on a peak and ripped the lip off on the first dip. SO bags will be ordered this summer.

little bit of a lack on updates, but I've been enjoying the car and getting tons of complements on the car.
well time to tackle a few things first being the alignment,
toe isnt actually too bad considering I just eye'd it in the garage, the rear does raise a few questions of being so far off but I think it has to do with major wear on the inside of that one tire. With in a few min I had the front toe adjusted nicely and was told I did a horrible job fixing the rear camber.
next was the compression test
I wasn't expecting too much just an improvement over before where #5 was 0 and #6 was 15. Now the numbers may seem back but BMW doesn't consider it "dead" unless its under 60.
not too shabby considering it still has a 400k bottom end in it, but it wont be getting the M90 unless its fully rebuild in which case I'm considering buying a whole other engine to do it so I wont have the car down for so long.
up next though...

This needs a bump. Awesome engine work and bay and I love the "Rival House" sticker. Reminds me of Junkhouse.

sorry for the lack of updates, been getting moved into a new shop/new job. I did get the car our with rival house for its first show and the feedback was pretty good.
There are a few issues first being the timing is off a tooth, not a big deal because the second problem is the timing cover is leaking. So once I'm settled in with the new job I'll pull it apart and reset timing which will make compression numbers better and get the bottom end power the car has been lacking.
I did chase down why I have no defrost, needless to say the heater blower motor was 100% locked up.
guess its time to hunt down another and install it along with chasing down more electrical problems inside the car.

little bit of an update....
so I never wanted to put a system in the car since it never had one when I first got it, but after realizing I had enough laying around to make a decent setup at no cost I decided to start pulling the interior out.
now I have a theory that sherman had suffered from a crazy ex of sorts at one time due to the face I've found glass at every corner of the car, event he back
so with everything removed I decided to go ahead and run power for the compressor, granted I'll have to pull most of it back out to run air lines.
rear speakers in, I'm tempted to get the OEM grills to cover it up to make it look factory.
and amp is mounted
that's as far as I've gotten today, I plan on getting the rest done soon and cleaned up.
