Personally id stick with a BMW oem colour. Would really consider Calypso red, someone on here from the west coast i think, has an e30 calypso red which appeared on the main page article a few times. 02 would look stunning in the same colour.

    or oem nevada

the one of the 02 is in portland, Ill have to keep an eye out for it

These two are spot on! The nevada would look amazing, but the blue works better with the black wheels, both are great colors though. Im sure that whatever you end up choosing will look amazing.

Been gone for a minute. Really like Nevada, but I could go for those lighter blues as well. Anxious to see what you go with

I considered Valencia Orange as a possible color for my E30 but I decided to go with a grey. Maybe Valencia would look good on an E10.

Forgot to add that the most amazing part about the paint on the 1602 is that it has been sitting for 15 years accumulating dust and when he rinsed it of it looks like new!

I'm staying away from white/cream, just doesn't suit my taste. I'm just trying to find a color that I enjoy most, not really concerned about if it will be cool to the general public in 2 years or not
Choosing a colour is one of the harder parts of a build in my mind because when you've spent so much time and money on prepping the exterior and the mechanical parts it would be a shame to pick a colour you don't entierly like yourself.

For example earlier i thought techno violet would look great but the more pictures & videos of techno violet beemers i realise that it probably wouldn't look to good on a classic BMW, it's a colour for more modern cars.

But i've been thinking of other colours and what about the same shade of orange as the GULF race car liveries? on a swedish forum (yes i'm from sweden) i follow a BMW 1602 build and the car is the oem orange and it looks really good and i think it would look good with the black wheels. Here you have a link to the 1602 build

You could paint it white/cream/oem and it will be timeless.
