awesome 200 man, seriously quick I imagine with the new setup
keep up the great work, take more video if you please
I know your trying to part with the gallardo's, I'd encourage you to keep them and make them fit
they'd be so sick on there, $.02
Thank you. The new setup isn't on yet because I'm waiting for the tube header, dp, and wg to be finished up. I'm hoping it will be in the next few weeks and I'll post about it when its all together. Oh, and I'll definitely take more video as soon as I get to use the car again some more! I haven't even seen it in about two months.
I agree with you on the Gallardos. I think with the rears on it would look very nice. I'm definitely on the fence about selling them and thats why I'm not really budging from my $2k figure or trade for wheels for my E34 since I have some really nice speedlines for the 200 as soon as I can find another center.
Yeah, that would be nice for the front bumper at least. What I like even more though is the V8 bumper (while retaining the 200 hood and grille)
Yeah it looks good too, plus it's way easier to find in the states - is there any modifications needed to install this? Did you keep the factory phone - those old built in german phones do it for me.
Also don't you think the older 200's AWD systems were better - with locking central and rear diffs rather than facelifted ones with just one lock that unlocks itself at a pretty low speed?

Yeah, there are some modifications needed for the v8 bumper. They are detailed in a thread on motorgeek.com if you are ever interested.
I do still have the factory phone and intend to keep it. I might bluetooth it to my phone or something. I really don't have the time to do it now though.
The quattro system is pretty good in the later 200s as well. The system can be modified such that it doesn't unlock at all pretty easily. Mine is wired to a toggle switch so I can lock and unlock at will at any speed. Regardless of vacuum lock, center/rear manual lock, etc. the car needs a built 6 speed 01e to really hold the power I intend to make. I'm hoping my new exhaust manifold and downpipe get finished this weekend.

So which diff/diffs can be locked on facelifted 200s ? What about staggered wheel set up you had for a while , aren't they bad for the quattro system that was intended to be used with only square set ups?..
I followed your build since you bought the car btw

Only the rear can be locked, but the center is torsen which is technically superior to a center locking/rear locking setup. The tranny I had for the car which never got shipped to me was a built 01e with high bias center torsen and torsen front diff. That would have been a riot with a torsen rear diff as well.
Staggered setups are fine as long as you get the rolling diameters correct. The overall diameter of the wheel + tire is what counts so on the Porsche wheels I had it would have been 225 40 18 and 255 35 18 on 8.5 and 10" wide wheels respectively. That brought the rolling diameter down to under 1% difference. Quattro engineers said something like 4% or under is acceptable for a difference in rolling diameter. Glad you have been following. I intend to make it a little more exciting when I can get my hands back on the car in the next few weeks!
