  • OK, teaser time!

I'll be going home this week to get the ole' girl running again with these new goodies attached.

    and...

    moAr!!

Mr. Hank Iroz is who has been welding all of this awesome stuff for me. Maybe one day I'll have enough space and time/$$ to get myself a good TIG and try to match his amazing skills.

Should be interesting getting that 4" dp to clear my subframe and axle lol. For now I think its just going to have to be open downpipe dump. I am really, really determined to plumb it into my existing 3" exhaust for when I want to be "stealth" though! The wategate re-route was mandatory as well because I wanted to hear nothing by my normal exhaust note and the sweet, sweet sounds of the HX52 monster (when its plumbed into the exhaust). Obviously for max power it might need to be disconnected.

I'm very excited to get back home and get this thing running again with all of the new goodies. Its been way too long!

I must say though, I have grown to really love the E34 as well. I've been having very strong urges to get some staggered ACS Type II's for it. I'd LOVE to trade my Gallardos for some

      • Nice! Gotta love a clean D11 or a clean t44.

        • I'm guessing that e34 handles better than the 200. the 200 does have better looking interior though.
Who needs stance, give me comfort and handling.

          • You'd actually be guessing wrongly on that. The way the two are set up now, the 200 handles much better. Its got more aggressively valved shocks, and has stiffer springs all around not to mention stiffer springs in the back compared to the front which really helps the car oversteer nicely.

The E34 does pretty well on Koni adjustables and H&R's, but the spring rates simply aren't high enough for the car to compete with the Audi in the corners. The Audi has no body roll whatsoever, while the E34 swings its weight around way too much. With the right springs, the E34 would destroy the 200 in terms of tossability, but the 200 would still have it because of the ridiculous amount of traction its able to keep in corners with the power on.

I like them both just the way they are though because they serve different purposes. The 200 has now become entirely impractical while the BMW is great to cruise around in still.

            • I was thinking about stock cars, Audi having most of the engine weight ahead of front axle and all.
Your 200 kinda reminds me of 5mall5nail5's e34 on bimmerforums - turboed, fast as hell but not usable for daily driving.
If i ever build a 200 I'd be willing to not make such huge numbers but keep it a comfortable german sedan.

              • Gotcha. The 200 is terrible at handling in stock form lol.

The Audi may still well be able to be comfortable and fast. Its never going to get fully gutted, and I don't thin it will be too obnoxious as long as I can plumb everything into the 3" exhaust for normal driving. A full cage would have to be integrated really well for it to stay comfy too.

It can be done well, i like how it's done on those v10 E30s (not sure what company built them)
                  - intergrated into the body, almost like they just reinforced the body:

                          • Ha. I broke out my camera to put my 93 S4 up for sale today. This build makes me think about changing my mind. My AAN is modded and putting down right at 300 all wheel hp with the factory side mount! These motors are beasts.

                            Good luck with the build.

                              • Thanks again all.

I finally got to edit some pics

Its going to be a little while until its running on boost. I don't have the time to make the intercooler pipes and integrate the downpipe into my exhaust until the summer.

I do have some pics and vids (just of it running) of the new setup though

finally got a chance to edit some pictures

I cannot wait to clean this car up once I have more time and a better place to do it!

and the vids (my mom is awesome lol)
