      well, they are RWD... you can have determination, but if the car isn't set to handle well it's gonna be kinda tough.

        on the first part i agree it gives a car character, gives it a story.

        on the second part thats what i tried to explain earlier. You are making youself out like a martyr. Like you are the only one who has it hard. Shops around here wouldn't put coils on my cressida if i asked them to let alone know what they are.


        I've only been on stanceworks for a little minute. However i know from experience with other car forums that ain't as nice as this one, and just guys who like cars to know that if you don't check the holier than thou attitude they are going to come down on you hard and fast.

        you aren't special regardless of what your mommy says. You don't have it harder than anyone else. A modded cobalt isn't "WTF" different from a VW like you said. Its more like "make me puke in my mouth a little" different just because its a cobalt. With that said i did mention earlier that i liked your cobalt when i first started reading the thread. But you crossed a point in which it seemed like you were trying to hard and trying to incorporate too many styles. basically your car lacks focus.

        ok that was my $.12 I'm not trying to bash you for your car, just your attitude. whilst giving you a few tips along the way.

        P.P.S you ain't the first one to tub fenders. When you go in and cut the entire fender out of the back and build new ones out of trailer fenders, and cut the fender out of the front and rock underhood fenderless for awhile because ur lazy, then you let me know until then

        • it's cool man, made sense. well let's look at mike borroughs. that car is completely custom. i never said i was anywhere near that, but it's the same retro fit chop cut and weld feel to a point. not looking for a trophy like i said.

          and my fuckin caliper cradles aren't cooperating right now and i am flipping out.

                  • I just read through this whole build. Some stuff is wtf are you doing, other stuff is pretty cool. The youtube vid was nice, even on stock wheels it looked good rolling and sounded kinda cool. My only complaint is that it's not clean. I know that's the look you want, but it could be heaps better by taking off half the dangly bits and stickers. I like the work you've put into it though, keep posting so I can continue to enjoy what you're doing.



                    Edit: A car can have character without looking like shit. Not that yours does, but I'm just saying.

                    • i feel you man, it's still a build in the process. i would much rather have a clean car to work with but my wallet doesn't have room for a whole new front bumper, fenders and lip. they've just been through so much rolling, rubbing and scraping that they're just shot and i'm trying to use it to the car's advantage. i like the race car, beat up from the track look. i have some better ideas in my head, just a matter of deciding on what to do. nothing i've done to this car has really cost me more than 200 dollars at once so my budget also decides what happens here.

                        • still dealing with it. i just don't get on it from certain rpm's and they shake a little but not horribly. i have plans to raise the entire engine and trans/diff with spacers and a bracket for the front tranny mount for the engine and trans mounts. i'm pretty sure i can get it to work out.

                            No offense to the OP, but this is exactly how I feel. But can't wait to see some more updates, keep them coming.

                            I get your point, you like the Nu-Wave Ratty track look, but the trendy stickers and Prince Albert loop hanging off the bumper is not that look. I know its your car, and you can do what ya like, I'm just hoping peer pressure leads you to sorta clean it up a bit, I really want to like your SS, but its just small details that are keeping me from it.

                                i feel ya man, it'll get there. i'm gonna do a lil less camber and some serious fender pulling out back. like mike borroughs status. then i'll be forced to re paint the car. the tow hook fell off somewhere. sucks.
