I think his point was that this thing does not look track ready in the slightest - at the moment.

this set of wheels is going to spark what really needs to be done with this thing.

Uhhh.. no.. well, I was referring mainly to the fact that your fitment is not going to work on a track, and I don't recall seeing any other mods that would make it any better than stock on the track.
Honestly, I think you're misled as to what constitutes a 'track car'.

so you do plan on changing up the suspension bits for track use and switching back and forth? or finding a happy medium between track and appearance?

                • it's a build man. i wouldn't run that camber on a track first off, and secondly all i did was put wheels on the car. the cobalt is known for doing well on the track, and with my coilover setup, some mods to the control arm bushings (i have plans, legit ones) and a little more work to the rear i think it would kill on a road course even with obscene fitment. 240's do it all day why can't i?

Because you don't have a 240? Different things work for different cars man your car is on the line of dangerous with that much negative camber in the rear I wouldn't get any were close to you if it was raining out. Looks cool but thats it, there is in NO way that will ever be functional.

                    • you drive past trucks with broken ball joints and stripped wheel studs every day. i see your point but these tires are pretty ill and the contact patch isn't even affected that much.

if i got a 240 and did this it would just be another 240

and the only reason i said boarderlined VIP is because its all black, on polished wheels, and it has teh "VIP" pipes
                          1. shakotan means lowered vehicle or car, look it up. Unless you are saying lowered car is a style then whatever. I just don't like it when people use japanese words for things they don't understand. Kinda like bros with kanji tattoos they think says "I'm a beast" when it really says "my mom is a beast in bed"

                          2. the pipes are NOT VIP they are more boso if anything

personally i think you are trying too hard. Nothing rat rod about it at all except maybe that its dirty and you are using zipties to put broken peices back together. I think your old fartcan painted black with a little poke looked better than what youve got now but thats just me.

the wheels are meh. But I don't really like the corvette wheels on any car besides a corvette. Yours would probably be the first i'd say i can agree with the decision to put them on being that its a chevy. There's even a guy in my crew who has some. I don't like em but thats his car and his decision. People think they look good. I'm just not crazy about them

Its your car do what you like. I **** cobalts, so its hard to make me a lover of your car but i'm not gonna **** on you just cuz you drive a cobalt. But being "different" by modding a cobalt won't keep you from getting ***** either. just sayin

this is all criticism, and in this thread it is greatly encouraged and accepted here. what i've left in bold, well, when i keep saying rat rodded cobalt i really just picture it as being my car all beat up and used from the drop, the dents and dings, the irreversible de-valueing of the car, and all that stuff. one thing for instance, i love that my front lip is beat because it gives the car character. when you see this thing driving down the road and have seen stanced vw's and such, seeing this car is a huge wtf.

and just to be clear, i don't care that my fitment is "too much" or there's too much camber or whatever. i didn't do it get on hella flush or anything, i just like the look so like i said criticism is cool but don't take me for some fool just throwing wheels, coils and lips on cars to get some street cred. i guarantee none of a certain few posting here have never custom adapted coilovers or done a mini tub on your fender wells. it took a lot of work to get where i am, and i don't expect a standing ovation or a trophy but i am happy with my work and all of you paying for labor rates at shops, well, i win that one.
