looking good mate, thats going to be one clean e30, id love to do this to my 325 but i dont have anywhere to put it and i think id be too scared to drive it afterwords . I know its too late now but for grinding back welds where you cant get an angle grinder in the tungsten carbide bits for a dremel work a treat, they are a bit expensive but well worth it.
and good luck with the engine

This evening I kinda forced the crank a little more than I previously had and she goes round again by hand. Will be assembling the engine so I can fit it and get her running, hopefully no damage was done!

Thanks Zach, it's just to hard not to do certain things while I'm at it, lots of bad before I put up the good pics also.

Engine is back in the old shell, no clutch on her. Next I need to get the tank back under her and plumbed up, plug in all plugs and stick the battery on the charger before I can see how she runs  Only took 6 attempts, 4 on my own, to get her in, helps if the engine mount is the right way round!

Hoping to go see how the sprayer is getting on next weekend, he's some work done, plastic preped, wings preped, he started on the roof which was painted with a brush at some point.

Few hrs at it again today, got nearly all the plug plugged in and the ECU pulled in under the dash. Had to do a bit of a ghetto setup with the fuel tank, should work though. Just some wires to bolt up (not sure where they go yet), some fuel pipes, oil, alternator + belt and prob a few other things and I can try turn her over

Anyone know where these wires go?

Near the ECU side of the loom? Probably to the battery +/- terminals?

These are near the starter, do all 3 of them go on there or is one for the block or chassis?

Is this destined for the bin or am I meant to use it somewhere?

Which of these is the fuel feed and return?

These wires are meant for this.

Its so you can charge the car in the front. if you ever run out of power. Since all the factory m50/m52 cars had the battery in the trunk.

The fuel is fed to the hose that goes to the front of the rail.

All of the starter wires go on the starter, one on the big terminal, and the other two smaller on the same terminal. But i am not 100% sure. since im going from memory. please check out for your self.

The build is looking great, why are you putting the m50 in that car by the way? Just to test it out?

Thanks Zic, that clears a few things up and should get me on my way! Will check the starter wires to make sure.

I'm putting my battery in the boot as well, thats the plan at least, I'll leave it out as I see no need for it :p

I'm putting it in the old shell to make sure it runs and I can do any work I need to do on it there as all will be carried over to the painted shell when it comes back.

Went to see Marty Lane today to see how he's getting on with the paint work and I was greeted with this:

The roof had been painted at some point and it crap hence why that was stripped back, the rear quarters were taken back to prevent reactions.

Front valance & skirts, bumper (and lower apron) ready for primer

                            Arch flares primered

Both front doors were prepped/being worked on

Some lead-loading they did on the plated up key holes:

The wings were also lead loaded but he didn't have them there. I can't remember what Marty told me he had done with the bonnet and boot lid. No corners being cut anyway, just how I like it

Forgot my camera, phone had to do, will bring the proper cam next time!
