So.. while trying to pull my e30 i managed to kinda destroy the front end of Volvo



As you can see, the damage isn't so big than it appears at first look.
Bumper support(or how you call it?) was kinda twisted and the bolts were ripped to pieces.



So, hammertime.. also some welding and new bolts; looks good as new

So.. sadly haven't done anything quite a while. Planning to begin the engine swap this week if possible. Can't remember what i'm talkin about?

Volvo B5252s 10valve N/A 5cyl from 850, this has 144hp and 206nm. When the swap is done, i'm going to get a 20v head which gives me 170hp and 220nm.

Gearbox and driveshafts are from T5 model..



This should be quite interesting because the 170hp engine gets the 1340kg 850 0-100 in 9 seconds. My car weighs under 1100kg

That's there just for fun.. it belongs to a friend of mine but would be nice to have that under the hood Tho i gotta say it is in the plans.. but we'll see when will that happen.

I was also thinking, that volvo v70 and xc70 are using the same engine and they have AWD versions also.. so my long planned rwd 440 will be even easier now

So finally some pictures

Got the steering rack mounted again.. had to change its location a bit, hopefully geometry didn't change much but we'll see about that when this thing is driving again.


Subframe is not finished as you can see, so no comments about it's weakness needed yet

I haven't got the engine-side mounting done yet, so you gotta wait :P
