So... i haven't done pretty anything.. minor preparations i guess. The problem is, i had to raise the car to stock height(even more) for TÜV which i'm trying to do next week. After that i'll be able to start welding the new rear fenders.
I HAVE tho started on DIY coilovers... since there aren't any for sale for this car, also it's cheaper.
So i took the stock shock absorber and cut it basically half, also i got shocks from opel rekord (which i also have for restauration), these shocks are openable, like for volvo 700/900 series and some else too. The system is simple, i take the opel shock, cut the piece i need with the thread part to open the shocks. (it's hard to explain as i don't know the technical english that good).
The part of opel shocks fit onto volvos shock, so all i gotta do is to weld them together. Then i can put the volvos shock inside parts (which i also have to make shorter) in the new shock.
I'll put a pic, maybe it explains better:
Basically new shocks should be about 50mm shorter than originals.
When i'm finished with that, i'll make tubes with thread, that fit onto the shock. Weld them there and also make nuts, where the spring will stand on. With that it becomes a coilover.
When i start making the second shock, i'll do more pics to explain this thing better
Long story of nothing, so i'll post next week when i can start doing some work
I'll also put a pic of the SUV

So.. some time has passed.. not particulary long time but still
I got sick of the Volvo after i broke it again, so it rested for a month at my friends house (broke it in one town, i live in another, about 70km away). Tried also to sell or trade it to some other car, but all options faded with no result.. so i kept it.
Towed it home and fixed it. It drives again but as the MOT expired (or however you say it in english), i couldn't drive on streets anyway, so i started doing bodywork.
Too out the interior and welded and cleaned the floor, then lifted the car on its side to clean it and oil it
Now it's on the wheels again, all i have to to is to weld some decent attachments for the seats and then i can put the interior back in.
Then it's time to start sanding it from outside and finally paint it. It takes time but i'll do my best to finish it this month
Some pics also:
I still have lots of work to do even when i'm finished with the painting. I also haven't finished polishing my rims and so onLet's Drag!!!
