  • Sucks about the SR, but your decision to go for an easier swap is understandle. Plus it's not like you're just doing a 3tc swap, either.

Props on building it for you. Digging the decisions for the build.

    • Im real sorry about that. Unlike most people, I was just glad that it was another japanese motor going into it at first.

(I **** the mother fucking whore fatass ugly redneck hick hillbilly boat motor american engine swaps into nice japanese cars)

Technotoy has some lightweight pulleys for the 4ag that should make her wind up like a motorcycle. Light weight pulleys+lightweight flywheel+knife edged crankshaft is the way to go

      • Well that sucks, but at least they didn't get half way into it and stop.

        • Thanks guys! I think this is all for the best. Keeps stress levels down and will make me able to enjoy the car even more.

....and after the engine is in I'll be scouting for a new legit and aggressive wheel and tire set up.

76-77 has a bigger engine bay. 71-75 is much smaller. Will not fit. Just the crank is longer than firewall to radiator. Trust me I checked. Plus if you read what I said before I'm no longer doing fab work.
I'll be sticking with the 4AGE.

                      • I support your SR plans...easy, easy power! And in addition, a SR looks sexy in any bay!

                              • Here is an update I am actually excited about!

Thanks to Mike at Track. One I now have a freshly built forged crank, rod, and piston 7rib 4AGE short block with oil squirters. It has 8:1 piston it it for a supercharger/turbo so I will be swapping them out for some high compression pistons. Block already has AE86 GTS mounting brackets on it along with everything else i need, except a crank pulley and alternator. I also picked up a T50 trans that is crazy clean, so its possibly been rebuilt also, and already has a GTS bell-housing on it. Only thing left to do is build a head, pick up some ITBs, and it will be ready to drop in the Celica for wiring. I am leaning towards the AEM EMS-4 and converting to COP but still unsure.

I will still be giving the engine bay a cheap paint job before the motor goes in permanently but will not be shaving anything until I decide to restore the entire body and paint the car.

                                Expect more updates soon....
