Im real sorry about that. Unlike most people, I was just glad that it was another japanese motor going into it at first.
(I **** the mother fucking whore fatass ugly redneck hick hillbilly boat motor american engine swaps into nice japanese cars)
Technotoy has some lightweight pulleys for the 4ag that should make her wind up like a motorcycle. Light weight pulleys+lightweight flywheel+knife edged crankshaft is the way to go

Sucks about the SR, but your decision to go for an easier swap is understandle. Plus it's not like you're just doing a 3tc swap, either.
Props on building it for you. Digging the decisions for the build.

Well I figured its time I update this thread and let everyone know whats going on.
Things have majorly changed in the plans of the car. I fell victim to some major disappointment over the last year with hired fabricators and have finally gave up. Long story short the car is back at my house and no work has been completed since its been gone.
I am taking this as a blessing and have decided to keep things simple for now. Here are the new plans which I am already working on:
I am using the AE86 crossmember that I already have. I have already spent the money on a rack and pinion conversion and will be using it also. The car is getting a 4AGE with ITBs backed by a T50 trans. Prob 20v. This is a simple straight forward swap that will require little to no fab. Keeping the stock rear end for now also.
Basically I am putting the car back together as quickly as possible and just going to enjoy driving it STRESS FREE to shows and such until the time I decide to tear it back down and restore the body.

And thanks everyone.
After the motors in I'll probably drive it for a few months just to make sure there are no issues and then I will strip it back down and be doing all the bodywork and repainting it. It would be safe to say it will not be 100% done until 2014 but I will be taking it to car shows next year with the new drivetrain.

Which fender mirrors did you go with? I just ordered some pretty nice TE27's that would look sexy on here.

Oh Em Gee! this is definitely my favorite build on this forum! I have said it before and meant it......that is until I came across this thread!
I don't care what motor you put in this thing, just make it classy...
Do you have any plans to drift this beast once the drivetrain is complete (your answer should be "NO, it will be hard parked like crazy though!")
Would it weird you out if I told you I loved you(r) car?

Can't wait to see where this goes either way. In the seven months I've owned my Corolla I've become a diehard Toyota and nostalgic Japanese car fanyay old Toyotas!
Also it's getting fender mirrors
