      • went down again today and cleaned the engine bay for a while made quite a difference if i do say so.

not quite done yet but getting there i need to get a good brush to get the rest.

right now i have to decide if i want to try and hammer out the cross member that has both of my motor mounts on it or if i want to try and get another one. there is a pretty huge dent in it but it doesn't seem to be affecting the position of the motor.

next up is pulling the front suspension assembly. it drops out as one big unit and will make working on the engine bay much easier. i am going to hold off working on the front suspension for a while since the engine bay is the priority but it is going to much more comfy sitting on a stool than that cross member. hoping to get back down there one tuesday after work.

        • saw one of these on a guys driveway in rough shape with no badges but wanted to know what it is, then you post this up haha, seriously that is a beautiful car. definitely jealous of your car. by the way some old school center lines would look amazing and flares maybe? external oil cooler?

definitely not to everybody's taste but i feel like this thing would look killer done up bosozuku style:
that being said that car is too sweet to come out badly, im sure the end product will be amazing. looking forward to seeing more of this build

                • talked with jason from ravenworks this morning on the phone about a couple of things and will be going in tomorrow to finalize what we are going to do to the motor.

so far the motor has been completely torn down and the block and head have been sent out and cleaned and checked for cracks. both came back good (the heads are known to crack between cyl2 and 3) which is a relief. tomorrow i'll snap a ton of pics and then post a list of everything that will be done as well.

i haven't been this excited to wake up early in a long time hehe

                  • update time!

went out to ravenworks this morning before heading into the office to see how things are going. so instead of rambling i made a list of the important things.

                    - confirmed the crank, rods and pistons are forged
                    - block and head came back from cleaning and there are no cracks
                    - still waiting on crank to come back from being polished
                    - i need new lifters
                    - cylinder walls look fine (was really worried about this)
                    - everything that the PO said was in the motor was actually there
                    - most likely keeping the stock pistons as they are the 9.5:1 comp pistons and the highest i can possibly go is 11:1 which isn't really worth the cost when i am already going to be milling the head and block a bit
                    - jason started porting the head and so far it looks great
                    - yay progress!

                    mmmm pretty

you can see jason has started on cylinder #1

crappy shot i know, i'll grab better ones when the head work is done

thats it for now, parts will be ordered as soon as we have enough info to do so but i'll keep you all posted
